2006 x type with the p035x problems
So I've had my X-Type for about 2 months now, and about 2 weeks ago it went into the flashing MIL reduced performance mode. The codes displayed were p0300, p0302, p0304, p0352, p0354, and p1000. It has been my understanding that the root problem would be the p0352 and p0354. Under that assumption, I swapped the coil packs from cylinders 2 and 6, cleared the codes, and started the car. Within a minutes, I was back in flashing MIL, only this time the codes were p0300, p0304, p0306, p0354, p0356, and p1000. This indicated to me that the coil pack was the cause of the issue, so I replaced the plugs for cylinders 2, 4, and 6, as well as the coil on 4 and 6. Everything was well for a few days time, when the same errors occurred on the cylinders I replaced the coils on. I moved the new coil from cylinder 4 to 2, cleared codes, and now my error is in cylinders 2 and 6. As my understanding is that the p035x codes can only be the cop, the wiring harness, and the pcm, and everytime I move the coil packs, the faults follow them, what should I be looking at? Is it possible that both new coils are bad, or that I have the wrong ones? I got them from O'Reillys. They are Import Direct coils. The only writing on them is the number 36015. The originals are numbered 36214, but that could be a date code for all I know. Visually they are identical. Also, the vehicle performs fine at idle and under load until it reaches operating temperature, then it misbehaves. The connectors to the coil packs are in good shape. The wiring closest to the coils is also in good condition, and doesnt seem to change anything when I pull on it, bend it, or move it. If the fault stayed in the same cylinders I would be more inclined to suspect wiring or the computer, but as it moves every where with the new coils, Im lost, short of replacing them again. It is the 4 wire coil pack if that explains anything further to anyone, and any help in diagnosing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, guys

You must find and correct the misfire(s) prior to continuing to operate the vehicle.
Under no circumstances is the vehicle to be operated under conditions that cause the MIL to flash as permanent catalyst damage is occurring from raw petrol being burned in the catalyst causing it to melt.
Was there any oil fouling on the coils when you removed them to swap cylinders?
The attachment below shows the cylinder numbering scheme for the previous and ISO designations.

Yes, the original issue occurred in cylinders 2 and 4. Thats the front of the vehicle first and second from left to right.
Swapping the coil packs around has caused the same p035x code to show in all cylinders on that bank, depending on where Ive placed the new coil packs. That fault is for a Primary/Secondary circuit malfunction in the indicated cylinder.
No oil visible in plug wells, or on plugs when they were replaced. The old plugs didnt look in horrible shape, but did appear worn. I replaced them with the same kind of Autolite that was there.
I havent really attempted anything else other than a visual imspection of the first foot or so of wiring harness closest to the coils, which looks fine. I thought that when the misfire moved, the coils needed to be replaced. Now the misfire is moving with the new coils, and Im not sure where to look next.

Based on your description, it seems the replacement coil units are either incorrect for the vehicle, or have an internal fault.
If possible, use the OEM coil units. The part number is C2S42673, but this number may have been superseded, so always provide the VIN when ordering parts from a Jaguar agency.
