Default Blank Navigation screen

Hello all - I'm wondering if anybody has a fix for this. I have a 2003 X-type 3.0 with NavSat integrated ( Denso system). The first issue that I was having was that it suddenly disable the POI - I could not enter any address either. So I wanted to do a system restore to get it back to work. I pressed the phone+menu to get into the diagnostic tool so it lets me restore the system. I accidentally hit the S/W button on the screen menu and then it asked me for a S/W CD- I believe this is the system software to flash the memory. I do not have that CD and it would not go back so after I shut the car down and turn it back on the screen is blank out ( totally black) and all the functions in the panel are not working. Is there a way to get it back up?

Thanks all.

Do the hard reset first as Genius said. If you go to software update and shut off the vehicle prior to it finishing, it can fry the nav reader. But I think that is only when you are acutally updating with the disc in it.
Try hard reset, then let us know. You may need the software disc.

I dont have the s/w cd i hit the key by mistake and ask for software and didnt come out of there so I shut down the car and that's when all happened. When you are acutally flashing you can damage the flash memory of any system if yu disconnect or power off while it's flashing, but since I wasnt I dont think the memory or anything is damaged. Just that stayed in that state and cant get out of it so I get a blank (black ) screen.

I would start by inserting the software DVD into the reader. Not the map DVD. But the actual software disc. Where are you located? Is your vehicle still under any warranty? PM me the last six of your VIN.

PM me your email address. I will send you a file. You need to burn it to DVD-R loose then start car, remove map dvd and insert the one you burned. Screen should say updating. If it doesnt, just let it run for 1o minutes, then cycle ignition. I hope it works. If not you likely need DVD reader.

Dont keep searching for s/w updates. That was the latest one. What you need is map DVD. I am in process of trying to find the 2008 disc. Will keep all posted.
