central locking ecu location

I have a central locking problem, the keys have been checked and found to be ok.
I wonder if it may be the central locking ecu, they are quite cheap on ebay but I dont know where it is fitted on the car and if it needs to be coded.
can anyone help.

The car is a 53 plate 2.0 diesel x-type
