Mediafire website has been giving us a problem with the JTIS file downloads - want to charge $1.50 for download of the 3rd part archive file.

That is why I put all the JTIS achives on the dropbox.com website.

You might have more than one jjtis.ini file on your PC that the jjtis.exe might be using instead of the one that I told you it should use.

Search your PC for JJTIS.INI to see if you have extra JJTIS.INI files.

Delete all the JJTIS.INI files and reboot your PC.

Then run the setup.exe in the (C:\JTIS21 X_Type) folder (this will create a new JJTIS.INI and update the other files in C:\Jaguar folder).

This should fix the issue.

Default Nice Job

I just have to say; I was upset when I couldn't find a chiltons on my x-type. When I downloaded this manual I was so impressed. This is very detailed and easy to follow! Jaguar is very gracious to give this away. My Harley Davidson book is 60 bucks, so it's appreciated.

Default Only have 1 JJTIS.INI

I only have one file JJTIS.INI so is that okay, or should I delete and run setup again.

It's been working great for me, though I did have some issues from a trojan on an old site. I did a system restore and it was gone.

Nope only the 1, tried uninstalling and re-installing, still the same. I have uninstalled and downloaded part 1,2 and 3 from your dropbox rather than mediafire incase that makes a difference

But why is part 1,2 and 3 all the same?

Just a thought, the JJTIS.ini file must be working fine as everything else in JTIS21 is working and opening up as it should be its just the DTC's that aren't

when I choose a powertrain in either OBD or EOBD, adobe reader opens and then says "document could not be found" - so its path of the instruction from the powertrain option to open that specific PDF file which seems to be wrong

I am not sure what is wrong with your JTIS install - Did you try to run the setup.exe again that is in C:\JTIS21 X_Type????

Here is the full path to your DTC PXXXX EOBD PDF file for 2002 X-Type 2.5:
C:\JTIS21 X_Type\DATA\DTCEN\X400_02_P_DTC_EOBD_R4.pdf

YAY!!!!! sorted it

firstly - my folder was called "JTIS21 X-Type", wondered if it didnt like the "space" and the "-" so renamed the folder "JTIS21"

Secondly - opened JJTIS.ini file and altered all the paths to match the "JTIS" folder and I added the path to the DTCSTART.pdf

so it looked like this.....

StartFile=C:\JTIS21\data\startup.txt
DataPath=C:\JTIS21\data
DTCStartFile=C:\JTIS21\DATA\DTCEN\DTCSTART.PDF
Whatsnew=C:\JTIS21\data\whatsnew.sgm

Thanks for help and advice, we got there phew!!!!!!

Here is what you need to know before you download and install the JTIS21 software

First you need to determine whether your PC has a 32 bit or 64 bit Operating System.

Method to determine Windows XP 32 bit or 64 bit
Look at this JPEG (has instructions/illustrations) Click on the image when the dropbox webpage to get a better view:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0zo00wh83i...20bit%20OS.jpg

Method to determine Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit Operating System):
Look at this JPEG (has instructions/illustrations) Click on the image when the dropbox webpage to get a better view:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/khcyplnz98...20bit%20OS.jpg

This PDF covers install on a 64 bit Windows 7 Operating System (also the other windows 64 bit OS - Windows 8, Windows 8.1, XP, and Vista):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fe6jkw5py3...bit%20v1.6.pdf

Important step after you download the JTIS21 archive files and after you start the running the 1st archive (exe) file to extract the files in the 3 archives - make sure you put in the C:\JTIS21 as the Destination folder

If you have windows 8 64 bit you may have to download the microsoft 32 bit help software for windows 8
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0wtvz3ux3s...917607-x64.msu

If you have windows 8.1 64 bit you may have to download the microsoft 32 bit help software for windows 8.1
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fehtnmqpc9...917607-x64.msu

PDF file for JTIS21 install on 32 bit Windows Operating systems (Windows 8, Windows 7, XP, and Vista):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/j6wjvc5esl...%20systems.pdf

I put the JTIS archive files up on my dropbox account. I have had no problems with the downloads on the dropbox.com site.

When the dropbox webpage opens, just click on the download button and use the run option on the popup.

Here are the weblinks to the all models (JTIS21) archives files.

Part1.exe is 190 mb (195313 kb)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fvdg6rsl63...CD.part1.exe?m

Part2.rar is 190 mb (195313 kb)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bwx4uch8m9...CD.part2.rar?m

Part3.rar is 58.9 mb (60318 kb)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xk49mq38ch...CD.part3.rar?m

Decide where to place the JTIS files after they are extracted (CD or on PC hard drive).

This PDF describes both the CD and Hard drive processes:

I just replaced my old laptop with one running Windows 8 64-bit and wanted to confirm that JTIS still works as it did on Windows 7 64-bit. If you follow the Windows 7 64-bit instructions, everything will work except the MS Help Software update. However, even though this update failed to install, JTIS is functioning normally including the help files. So it appears that step is not necessary on Windows 8. To clarify, I am running the X-Type specific version of JTIS on a Windows 8 Pro 64-bit laptop.

I work in IT and would be more than happy to assist any members who need assistance getting this setup on Windows 8, just shoot me a PM .

Is this up to 2004 models or even later?

Why does it not say so in the basic information?

If you guys have problems with Mediafire I can host via my x-type server. No serious stuff ever uses freebie hosting like that.

(I removed the link since it autogenerated the site title and stuff and I am not interested in having that published here)

Yes, I saw the image, but it is not in the descriptive text. Never mind, maybe I am nitpicking.

So for posterior models, what do you advice?

This JPEG I created shows the partial contents of the JTIS21 with the 2004.25 X Type selected.

It also includes a PDF downloaded that covers 2001 thru 2009 X Type showing the same partial contents in the PDF file:

I do not know if the 2004.25 X Type model information is the same as 2005 thru 2009 information, but it could be (maybe)??

The PDF file was purchased by another forum member and it's download link is in the "HOW TO" quick links thread -Workshop Manual in PDF. (thanks to LCGI)

The PDF file is also offered for sale on the jagdocs.com website as a PDF file download for $12.28.

Hope this helps

I also looked the 1st post that we provided the PDF file with the initial info on how to install the DAO350.dll file in windows 7 64 bit operating system - Line 3 Page 1:

The JTIS21 covers XJS model years 1995 and 1996, XJ model years 1995 thru and including 2004, XK model years 1997 thru and including 2004,
S type model years 1999.25 thru and including 2004, and X type model years 2001.50 thru and including 2004.25

I do not understand any of this. I downloaded two folders; JTIS for X type exe plus the RAR one with it. I started the EXE one and it extracted thousands of files from the RAR but now it just sits there. I cannot find any command line to start the program. I am on a laptop with windows7 64bit I think. I never had to do any of this when I loaded the old JTIS onto an XP computer which has now died. Please provide instructions in plain english I can follow that will not risk damage to my computer operating system. Thank you.

Default DTCs not opening

Hello, I'm having the same problem as M9G was in post #17. I followed all of the steps through post #29 and they still won't open. When I try to open a DTC file, for example OBD, it get the message "no registry entry for acrobat reader found"
All the rest of JTIS is working fine.
Thanks in advance for any help.
