Fan Control Module and Overheating !
So it seems that my fan control module is not working as it should. Car overheats when sitting in traffic and AC running.
I tried testing it by setting the AC to LO and moving to highest fan speed and the fans by radiator and most of the times they don't turn on.. sometimes they do , but rarely. So likely it's faulty at this point and not reliable.
Anyone know where I can get a replacement or part # I can look up etc... ? It's a 2002 X 2.5
Thanks !

I have attached a breakdown from the Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog.
Also included is a breakout from the SNG Barratt Catalog. I would recommend you contact DrDome a forum member who parts out X-Types. You can text or call him at 484-903-4813 tell him avern1 recommended him. He can probably fix you up with a good used one.

Thanks again for all your info. I reached out to the Doc and expecting a replacement later this week
Used him in the past and I can say he seems to have all the parts someone would ever need ! Lol
Hoping that it'll resolve the overheating in traffic when I have the AC on. It's not easy sitting in near 100 degree weather, and knowing that if I turn on the AC I better get the car up to at least a constant 40mph with no stop and go or else...

Fan module
They are small resistors that burn out. Thermo has the # on them. As long as you can tack a motherbord, it can be done. Ask Thermo i am sure he can point you exactly which one it is.

Larry, it isn't the resistors that are going bad, it is the power transistors that go bad. If you get one and open it up, you will see where there are 4 of these power transistors at one end. You need to replace all 4 of them. Of note, not all 4 of them are the same component. 2 are one type of transistor, the other 2 are a different style. I bought some on e-bay for like $0.50 each. The numbers are written right on the transistors themselves. The issue comes that with the fans running for a long time, the transistors cannot dissipate the heat fast enough. This is compounded by the fact that the transistors can start coming away from the heat sink (case) of the controller. This minimizes the amount of heat that they can remove. Get the transistors too hot, they fail.
