Question Fuel Injector O-Rings

Does anyone know where I might be able to get a set of fuel injector o-rings? Jaguar does not offer the part as they are not serviceable . After looking online and locally it appears they suggest the top and bottom o-ring are the same size. The bottom (intake) o-ring on my injectors are much thinner then the top (fuel rail) and a different color.

This is what the top o-ring looks like on mine except they are blue. I assume the color doesnt matter.

These look exactly like the bottom. Notice how they are much thinner.

I will take a picture of them when I get home.

karmak, see if you can get some o-rings for a Lincoln LS 3.0L motor. I bet you will find that those o-rings are the same ones that you need.

Here is what I am dealing with. Auto Zone, Advanced, PepBoys and Napa all offer a black version of the blue o-ring below. I had them check the 2003 Lincoln LS 3.0 and a few other cars they all came back with the same part. I cant find a replacement for the smaller black o-ring .

As for the blue o-ring, that looks a lot like the o-rings used on a 5.4L engine used in the ford trucks (F-150, Expedition, Navigator, F-250/350). So, you may want to take the o-ring in and see if they can pull down a box of those o-rings and see if they match up.

As for the thinner (black) o-ring, you should be able to go over to the o-ring center at your local parts store and find something that is really close. Most of the o-rings that you will find are going to be nitrile o-rings and they will stand up to gasoline.

Another option is to talk to ken@britishparts.com. I'm sure he can get you the o-rings.

For weird O-rings, I have always had luck with Caterpillar equipment service centers.

Heavy equipment comes from all corners of the globe anymore, and they - in particular - seem to have the best stock and assortment of O-rings to service them.

Here's an interesting video "When O-Rings Go Bad". Very educational.

Part Two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZMaPlZz1XQ .

Good Luck!

Unhappy

I called Ford to see if they can get me a set of o-rings for a 2004 Lincoln LS 3.0 They can get the top (blue in my picture) o-ring that I can find just about anywhere around here. The smaller bottom ring (black) is not serviceable and do not offer replacements . They would have to order a whole new set of injectors to replace the o-ring. I get the same answer from Jaguar and britishparts. I have gone to local shops that specialize in injectors and others that have random o-rings and none carry the correct size for the smaller ring. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

you mentioned in the first post that jaguar said the injectors are not serviceable, does this mean no fuel injector cleaning, or if an o-ring goes bad time to buy new injector?

I dont have access to a XJ8 so I have no idea if they are the same injectors. If you can read the numbers off the side I can compare them to mine. I got the o-rings from Tri State Bearing 812-425-1336. If you call and ask for injector o-rings I doubt the will be able to help without being able to compare the old to what they have.

jn_lego
That is correct. If for any reason you need the lower o-rings Jaguar expects you to spend $1200+ on a whole new fuel rail and lower intake assembly + Injectors. I might be wrong on exactly what the $1200 includes I was in shock when I heard the price. This is also true for the Lincoln LS 3.0. So far the o-rings I got are working perfectly . No leaks or issues when reinstalling the injectors.

I used this video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFJlTfHyrUk ) and had to make a few modifications. In the end I was able to test and clean all my injectors.

Default They do exist!!!!

I found them at drivewire.com (00 2000 Jaguar S-Type Fuel Injector Seal - Fuel Injection - OES Genuine | Drivewire.com ). Yes, these are for the "s-type" but they are the same as the x-type. DO NOT look for them after 03 -reason most of our online supply shops go by MFR's report as non serviceable. When in fact the MFR used the very same injectors for several years. I have them in my 07 x-type! Same injectors as my 02 x-type and my 04 s-type. Go figure! I'm not too suprised. Here are the web-site pics.

Kyle, no I never SPECed the O rings but did provide you with a means to locate the parts. A quick google search on the part numbers provided turn up the parts. If your plan was to replace with O-rings from an o-ring kit, I would caution you on that. O-Rings due have SPECs like hardness, and material used. Don't be concerned when the O-rings fit the s-type or other models, I had an S-type and 3 x-type, these O-rings are common throughout the entire series and years. Still the same. Here is a list I turned up from my search this morning:

BLUE - Upper
http://www.carparts.com/details/OES_...upon&TID=iraff

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...9SIA91D3BH2248

2000-2002 Jaguar S Type Fuel Injector Seal - Fuel Injection - Genuine, Upper 00-02 S Type Fuel Injector Seal - 545-01003066 - PartsGeek

https://www.amazon.com/OES-Genuine-Injector-select-Jaguar/dp/B001G7D87S https://www.amazon.com/OES-Genuine-Injector-select-Jaguar/dp/B001G7D87S

BLACK - Lower
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...9SIA91D3BH2263

https://www.amazon.com/OES-Genuine-Injector-select-Jaguar/dp/B001G7F6PU https://www.amazon.com/OES-Genuine-Injector-select-Jaguar/dp/B001G7F6PU

2000-2002 Jaguar S Type Fuel Injector Seal - Fuel Injection - Genuine, Lower 00-02 S Type Fuel Injector Seal - 545-01003067 - PartsGeek

there were many more hits, this is just a few. Sorry I cant give you the information you requested "SPECS". I never researched that information, I just wanted back on the road

I know this is a very old thread but I found it when looking for injector O-ring info. Upper O-rings are sold as O-rings, lower O-rings are usually called seals even though they are just different O-rings. Upper O-rings are very easy to find, lowers not as easy but are available from the usual Jag specialty shops: SNG Barratt, jagbits, terrysjag

Upper Injector O-ring: C2C19756
Lower O-ring / seal: C2C19757

GB Remanufacturing sells both as a set, their part number 8-051. Right now a set of these at Rock Auto is $3, less than either an upper or a lower from the Jag parts suppliers. GB Remanufacturing has a buyers guide listing all the applications with the same O-rings. The list is pages and pages long. Here in the US of note they are the same as the O-rings on the 2003-2010 Ford F-150 5.4L which was the largest selling vehicle in the world for most of those years, so there must be some inexpensive Ford aftermarket parts.

dh53, if that is true about the fuel injector being used on the F-150, then simply walk into your auto parts store and tell them that you have a 2012 F-150 5.4L and you need the o-rings. tada, I bet you will get a set. I have done this for a number of other parts but told them that I had a Lincoln LS 3.0L motor. That may be the other model that I would let them look up and see if they have the o-rings for that.

You're right, the Lincoln LS 3.0L is also on the list as are XK8, XJ8, S-Type, Jeeps, Fords, Chevys, Mazdas, Mitsubishis, Land Rovers, VWs... Makes sense, these things get cranked out by the millions by Denso and Bosch and are mostly specific to make and model by the internals of the injector, not by differences in the external dimensions where the seals engage.

The list says:
F-150, 5.4L, 2003-2010
F-150, 5.0L, 2011-2017

There are several more F-150 model years and engines on the list but you get the point. Don't ask for 2012 F-150 5.4L seals, ask for 2012 5.0L seals.
