Rear parking aid
Hi lads, I just replaced the reverse switch and now my backup lights are good. Still a major killer beep when I start engine. No matter which gear (it's a manual). I hear ticking from two center sensors, the two on the sides are dead. Do I have to replace the sensors? Any other hints? It's a -08 2.0d executive estate. And it's located in my yard in Norway.

Finn, if you can hear chirping/clicking from the center sensors, but not the outside ones, you have 2 bad sensors. Get the outside sensors and replace them with new. Then see what you have. Of note, having been down this road, I have 2 bits of wisdom for you.
1) when removing the sensors, push the sensor from the outside of the car and push it towards the center of the car. If you try to twist it, you WILL!!!!! break the sensor and it then becomes a real bear to get out at that point. I would also recommend getting 2 small screwdrivers and wedging them into the retaining clips so when you go to push the sensor into the bumper, you are not fighting to hold the clips out at the same time.
2) the outside sensors are different part numbers than the center sensors. So, pay attention to which ones you get. If you look, you can easily see the difference. One set of sensors has a straight connector on the sensor. The other set has a 90 degree connector on the sensor.
Wish you luck.
