First I'd check tire pressure. If you had a hard pothole hit recently you may have bent a wheel. A tire shop could put it on balance machine and tell pretty quickly. Shop that does alignments will check components as part of that service.

Lots of bits in the front suspension and driveline: Wheel bearings, control arms, tie rods, ball joints, wheels and more. Are you noticing any problems aside from the noise, like vibration through the steering wheel or car pulling to one side? If you noticed the difference after pothole hit, then look at cheapest, simplest culprit first: Inspect tire and wheel, then go up from there. Pop on your spare (oops, gotta air it up first!) and take suspect tire/wheel to a shop. A decent alignment shop will check all the readings plus tell you of any worn or damaged parts they find. Based on your description it's hard to say - it could be that everything's fine with suspension but the noise is from a hole in the exhaust. You just have to get the car up and see if you can find the problem.

sounds like a flat tire when driving gets noisier as speed in increases....steering etc. seems ok.....

I suppose it could be the tire. Maybe when you hit that pothole it damaged the inside of the tire.

If it's come free, the leading edge catching any breeze can cause it to flap or flutter. I had an issue with the REAR valence (where the sensors are) doing similar. Turns out it only had 2 screws in it. One on each end. And the entire center would flutter at speed. I used a few body clips and screws to resecure it and it's been fine ever since.

So.... if yours is loose, it's definitely worth a look. On mine, I found I could temporarily secure it with zip ties while I went to the store. Even with the zip ties it was dead silent, but.... didn't want to leave it that way
