Garage door opener
I am tired of replacing batteries in my garage door opener remote and wish I had a built in remote on my roof console (grey) is there anyone here who has one which they dont use and would like to sell, or one from a car which they are parting out? I would have asked the dealer for the buttons next time I visit but I am pretty sure I wont liek the price.
Also if I source these buttons how would I connect power to them? Should I tap into the power from one of the dome lights or is there a spot to connect it to already there?

RE: Garage door opener
The newer cars use the Homelink system. However it is not compatible with all remote frequencies. Hate to see you purchase one to find this out. FWIW what one of these costs you could buy a whole bunch of batteries. Or figure out what value resistor to step down 12 VDC to your remote.

RE: Garage door opener
I am aware of the cost, but the cost is justified by not having to go out to the store, buy a battery then fight with the remote and my garage door opener to configure it. Not to mention every time I do a battery change I have to re configure the other remote, the key pad outside the garage and the built in buttons on my dads Ford Explorer.
This is the opener I have with the additional outdoor key pad

chadmc5cI have no clue what your last sentence means. Care to dumb it down for me?
