Firstly go to C-Net Downloads and download (Win Rar) I say this because I used Win Rar and it worked great for me. These instructions are based on Win Rar.
Once (Win Rar) is installed on your computer, print this instruction off so you can follow them whilst downloading and installing this application. Then go to step one.
1/ Double click on the direct download link below. There are also other links for this file elsewhere on the site.
http://redirectingat.com/?id=42X198&url=http%3A//www.cannell.co.uk/Jaguar_Workshop_Manuals/JCD-1.zip
A box should appear asking you to OPEN or SAVE the download, Click SAVE. If the box does not appear, look at your bottom task bar. It maybe there, its box will come up as 0% of JCD-1 zip. If it’s there, click on it and the OPEN or SAVE box will then appear, Click on SAVE. If this does not work, copy the whole link, and then open your internet browser. In the very top search bar will be the name of your home page, (http) Delete this name then right click and paste your link here. Next, click on the arrow at the end of that search bar. Your browser will find the download and the OPEN or SAVE box will now appear. Click on SAVE. A box appears asking you to name the folder, just click SAVE
2/ The download will now begin and the compressed downloaded RAR file called J-CD1 will be placed in your personal downloads folder. (About 20 minute download time). A compressed Win Rar file looks like 4 red books stacked on top of each other. At the end of the download a box appears asking do you wish to OPEN or CLOSE the program. Click on CLOSE, and then close the internet.
3/ Now from your desktop screen go to your personal downloads folder. You can find this by clicking on the start menu icon, (that’s the bottom left circle with 4 flags inside it). Then at the top right of this box, Double Click on your name and all your personal folders will appear showing, Documents, Pictures, Music, Downloads, etc. . Double Click on Downloads and your downloads folder will open.
NOTICE: Check the size of the downloaded J-CD1 Rar file, if it’s 470,270KB I know it works. Sometimes the download is cut short and it’s not as large as this. If this happens, delete the downloaded file and start again
4/ Once you find the J-CD1 Rar file. (4 Red Books Stacked On Top Of Each Other) Right click on this file then click on extract here. All the extracted files will be placed here in Downloads in a standard yellow folder with the same name J-CD1. This may take a while.
5/ Now double click on the yellow J-CD1 folder to open it. Then find (SETUP- Application -60KB). Right Click on this file and a list will appear. Click on (Run as an Administrator). In the next box that appears click on Allow. A box will now appear asking you to remove old data and install new. Click OK. A box now appears about Acrobat Reader, Click OK. The first part of the application will now install.
Once finished a box appears telling you the download is complete. Click OK. You are now asked do you wish to restart, Click FINNISH and your computer will restart.
6/ once your computer has restarted, go again to your Downloads folder. Again find and then Double Click on the yellow J-CD1 folder to open it. Then Double Click on dao35, then Double Click on CD1. Now find (Setup –Application- 47KB). Right click on this file and from the list that appears, click on (Run as an Administrator). In the next box that appears, Click Allow. The next box to appear is the setup box, Click Next. (NOW READ THE NEXT PARAGRAPH BEFORE GOING ANY FURTHER).
IMPORTANT: The next box to appear is the components box which has two selections in it, Jet and ODCB Direct. Both have tick boxes to the left of them. Click in the tick box named ODBC Direct and remove the tick from its box. Now select next. The next box is for optional components. You can leave them all ticked. Click Next. The dao35 application will now install. Wait a while for the installation to complete. A box will appear telling you the installation are complete. Click OK. Now return back to your desktop screen.
7/ a black box ladled JTIS should now be on your desktop. If not, Click on the start icon again, then click All Programs at the bottom of the box, then scroll down the list and find the yellow JTIS folder. Click on this folder to open it, and then Right Click on the black JTIS box. A list will appear, select (SEND TO the DESKTOP). Go back to your Desktop where you should now find the JTIS Application shortcut.

ALMOST DONE

8/ Now from your desktop, Double Click on the JTIS shortcut and the application should now open. However On some computers, the help folder inside the application is not useable. This is because a file for Vista is missing. This file needs to be downloaded before the help utility can be used.
WINDOWS HELP FILE: (6.0-KB917607-x86.msu)
So with the application open, click on help at the top of the first page. If this won’t open, Windows own help folder will appear on the right. Follow Windows help instructions and look for then download WINDOWS HELP FILE 6.0-KB917607-x86.msu. The whole program including the help files should now be working.
This is what I did it and I assure you it works. ON VISTA

GOOD LUCK
Yeah right! Is this a creul joke? lol...I've managed to get half of internet junk web apps and a TROJAN from attempting to download this rubbish!!!!!

I need the manual for sure, but since I've strarted this, I can't even do a system restore, and my original explorer configuration has been hijacked by sites I've never heard of...

I can't believe this!

Hi
Sorry for CNET download virus problems.

I also got a bad virus when I was download something else from the CNET website and it installed the infected ASK.com toolbar on my PC. My antivirus software at that time was Eset and it did not catch it and certainly not could fix it. I had to download Vipre Rescue from my wife PC and save it on a CD to use on my PC and it found the virus in the ASK toolbar.

First you need a antivirus rescue software.
Here is a weblink to Vipre Rescue:

VIPRE Rescue - VIPRE Computer Recovery Solution
"VIPRE Rescue is a handy, easy to use tool designed to clean your computer if you are already infected with a virus and your operating system is not working properly as a result of the infection.
If you are already running VIPRE and a virus has disabled it, you can still run this program to clean your computer."

After you remove the virus and the CNET software, you have 2 choices.

Download WinRAR software - I will provide you with a weblink to a virus-free download file and the JTIS Archives on Dropbox.com (my account there)

or
Download JTIS X-Type PDF file archive download file on mediafire.com account.

WinRAR software comes in 64 bit version and 32 bit version.

Here is the download link to WinRAR 64 bit version:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/tr71bah2kf...ar-x64-393.exe

Download to WRAR 32 bit version:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/v2qiiq12jiypnmg/wrar362.exe

Here is the download links to JTIS software archive files on my account on dropbox.com:

All models (JTIS21) 3 archives files - After downloading the 3 files just click on part1.exe and it will self-extract all the files in all 3 archive files.

Part1.exe is 190 mb (195313 kb)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fvdg6rsl63...20CD.part1.exe

Part2.rar is 190 mb (195313 kb)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bwx4uch8m9...20CD.part2.rar

Part3.rar is 58.9 mb (60318 kb)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xk49mq38ch...20CD.part3.rar

Other alternate is to download the JTIS X-Type PDF achive file
Jaguar XType Workshop Manual.pdf file download (57171 kb - ie 55.83 mb)

GOOD LUCK
I followed these instructions and ended up here www.cannell.co.uk which says "you've been hacked by Hamza"

I received a trojan, and my whole system was changed. Took considerable time to get my pc back to normal...

I suggest following the lambardi instructions for the manual. ask him to forward the simple instructions following the winrar application. It worked fine.

Thanks...I think this sticky should be deleted from the forum...

Is there a wiring diagram or diagrams in the JTIS, or is it another file?

Electrical Guides PDF file is part of the JTIS software- Look at this JPEG file of one of the JTIS pages:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/nl5pvgumjd...creenshotA.JPG

There is a group of buttons (menu items) at the top of the JTIS page screenshot. The Electrical Guide is the button right after the Service button. It shows a image representing a formed square of wires with lightening strikes on it, place your mouse cursor on the button and it will display "Electrical Guides". Click on that button and it will open a pop-up asking for your model and model year, then it will open the Electrical Guide PDF file for the model and model year you requested.

First you need to determine whether your PC has a 32 bit or 64 bit Operating System.

Method to determine Windows XP 32 bit or 64 bit
Look at this JPEG (has instructions/illustrations) Click on the image when the dropbox webpage to get a better view:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0zo00wh83i...20bit%20OS.jpg

Method to determine Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit Operating System):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/khcyplnz98...20bit%20OS.jpg

This PDF covers install on a 64 bit Windows 7 Operating System (also the other windows 64 bit OS - Windows 8, XP, and Vista):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fe6jkw5py3...bit%20v1.6.pdf

If you have windows 8 64 bit you may have to download the microsoft 32 bit help software for windows 8
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0wtvz3ux3s...917607-x64.msu

PDF file for JTIS21 install on 32 bit Windows Operating systems (Windows 8, Windows 7, XP, and Vista):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/j6wjvc5esl...%20systems.pdf

put the JTIS archive files up on my dropbox account. I have had no problems with the downloads on the dropbox.com site.

When the dropbox webpage opens, just click on the download button and use the run option on the popup.

Here are the weblinks to the all models (JTIS21) archives files.

Part1.exe is 190 mb (195313 kb)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fvdg6rsl63...CD.part1.exe?m

Part2.rar is 190 mb (195313 kb)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bwx4uch8m9...CD.part2.rar?m

Part3.rar is 58.9 mb (60318 kb)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xk49mq38ch...CD.part3.rar?m

Decide where to place the JTIS files after they are extracted (CD or on PC hard drive).

This PDF describes both the CD and Hard drive processes:

Jim Lombardi.

I am looking forward to getting back home and trying your suggested solution. Whether or not I have any luck remains to be seen. In any event, the forum is most fortunate to have your knowledge and willingness to share.

I thank you for the information and will follow up with success/problems as they occur.

Default putting in my 32 bits...

I read somewhere that the JTIS only works on 32-bit systems, so I can't use it on my Win-7x64-bit machine (or Win-8 for that matter). It'll open to the menu, but as soon as you choose a vehicle line, it locks up. (And JTIS has a crappy Windows 3.1 looking interface.)

Previously had a Win-7 32-bit machine, and it did work on that.

JTIS has been successfully installed on windows 7 PCs using the instructions I put in post# 46.

Everyone needs to read and understand what is in post# 46.

If you do not have a successful install, then please send me a private message or email and I will trouble shoot it.

Most times I find that the person had a bad download of the 3 archives files (you need to check the file sizes to see if the downloaded files are the same size as the files on the website).

My first question to forum member Blueneck (in my private message to him) was did he check the file sizes.

He responded he did and that they were not the same. Well if they are not same, then he has bad downloads and needs to download the files again.

Posting in this thread that it does not work (especially with comment such "no good" or" did not work"), it only discourages other forum members. If there is a problem then do some checking (downloaded file sizes problem or any error messages, etc).

post# 46 gives all install instructions for all the various versions of windows.

It tells you how to find out what version of the windows operating system you have on your PC. (windows xp - 32 or 64 bit, windows 7 32 or 64, windows vista 32 or 64).

After you determine what windows operating system you have , then it gives you a weblink to the PDF instructions for that windows operating system.

There are weblinks to my dropbox.com account that has the 3 archives files downloads.

Also there is a PDF that has instructions on how to put the JTIS software on your hard drive or on a CD disk. I recommend putting it on your hard drive.

I spent a lot of time sending Blueneck the archive files attached to emails (23 of them - 22 with one 20 mb file attached to each one of them).

I also put the 3 archive files on my google drive so he could try to download them.

By the way Blueneck is located in Nigeria.

I even solved other forum member issues and one forum member with registering the dll file by talking him through the process over the phone.

You need to use the recommended destination folders names that I use in the instructions (included in the PDF files).

The X Type Workshop PDF is in the sticky thread 'How To' "quick links" model specs / info / accessories thread ((at the very bottom of the posting "Workshop Manual in PDF. (thanks to LCGI) )).

It is the same Jagdocs PDF file that you are offering and it was put on the mediafire.com in August 2012:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...essories-5915/

The only issue it is not a self-extracting Archive file, you need software (such winzip or winrar) to open the archive file (55.8mb) and extract the files from it.
