Default 2017 XE Seatbelt recall

NHTSA Recall Number:16V940Manufacturer recall number:J081Recall Date:12/22/2016Recall Description:On certain 2017 Model Year Jaguar F-TYPE vehicles the front seatbelt pre-tensioners may not function properly due to a deviation in generant mix ratio.Safety risk description:In the event of a crash of sufficient severity the front seatbelt pre-tensioner may fail to operate when required. Failure to operate can lead to increased injuries to the front seat occupants.Repair Description:Owners will be notified and instructed to take their vehicle to an approved Jaguar dealer who will inspect both front seat belt assemblies for identification of the production date. If the seat belt production date is from the specified production dates at risk, it will be replaced. If the seat belt production date is not from the specified production dates at risk, no further action is required. There will be no charge to owners for this repair.Status:Repair Not Yet Available

The text states its for Jaguar F-TYPE not the XE ??

It may also be the F-type, but I put in the VIN # of my XE and it confirmed that my car is subject to the recall.

You might want to plug in your VIN # and see what happens.

See https://www.cars.com/articles/recall...1420693227736/ and then go to https://www.nhtsa.gov and plug in your VIN.

yes I figured out the link was adding characters at end of link, I took them out and it worked. I also got the same text but it still shows F-Type, kind of weird. I guess we may get something in the mail about it.

Driver's seatbelt pre-tensioner may not deploy as intended

I found the following XE recall information on the UK DVSA website. Naturally it's RHD vehicles for the UK but very likely the same issue applies to LHD vehicles:



The affected VIN range is SAJAA4AN9HA920686 to SAJAB4AG1HA944169. Remedial action is to rewire the connector to the Restraints Control Module on affected vehicles.
