Default Great review of the XE 3.5T R-Sport

I hadn't seen this review until it was posted on the homepage. Great to hear that Jag is coming to fight the Germans well armed...

I dispute his assertions on the last 15 years of Jaguar. They've been on a steady up since 2004; not up and down.

He mentioned the absence of NVH. I have to disagree. V6 is not that smooth on low revs. There is a significant amount of vibration felt through the steering for a luxury car.

I do love how freely it revs for a SC engine and has a great top end pull, but by no means, it is that smooth of an engine. Especially when compared to B58.

As for sound isolation, I think it is average for the class.

I agree with him regarding turning radius being great and the interior wrapping around you like a cockpit. I love it! at night it looks particularly great.

As for ZF 8 speed calibration, I think it is way too fuel economy focused. I often catch the car being in a too high of a gear to execute needed maneuver.

Maybe they should offer manual XE. I would pay a premium for it if I was buying again for sure.

For me to buy another XE, it would have to be a manual or an XE S-R when it comes out in French Blue

The French Blue is my favorite color in Jag's paint box, for sure.

Same here. The current prices on 4C's are very tempting. That car is a work of art!

Not to divert this thread, but look at the comical way this USSR team reviews the XE! (Copy and Paste this link)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbvjVtHQQIY

It's an old review, but oh my Lord, they make the Russians look like 2-dimensional throw-backs with only two crude purposes for their performance cars. Light years behind what other reviewers look to test in a luxury performance car.

I feel sure this is a portrayal of only an extremist attitude of Russian driving culture. But look at the fear in the poor gal's face. She starts off like a tough chic, but you can spot her behavior when someone else is behind the wheel. Deliberately?!! Like someone decided, yes me must throw young spongy girl as passenger and try to frighten tears out of her. Da!

LOL, that poor kid!! She can't tell me she didn't need Excedrin and some Ben-Gay after this video.

The XE is one beast of a performer.

There is not much of a driving culture in Russia. I would not recommend anyone to drive there

They do have a rich culture of "objectifying" women though.

LOL! Wow, that poor girl sure got a lot of sympathy from us posters. Yes, we must invite her to come over and spend time in the XE with gentlemen who know HOW to drive a Jag.

She would provide a much better review of the car.
