Jaguar's solar-control glass is the real deal.
Radar gadgets trying to scan out through the glass, and EZ pass or similar parking badges that need to be "detected" by scanning equipment you drive up to WILL NOT work through the windscreen glass...

....EXCEPT around your rear view mirror! There's a cluster of sensors behind your rearview mirror (you can see them when standing outside looking at the windscreen), and even your rear view mirror itself has a scanning device aiming out the windscreen. They can do this because of the dot-matrix area hidden around the rearview mirror console.

So you have to mount your radar gadget in that dot matrix area (and be careful not to block the sensor on the backside rearview mirror either).
The dot matrix zone is the only signal-free area that will give your devices a chance to work.

I stopped using them because I switch cars too often now and just use a few V1 units in my cars. But installing the K40 units was a breeze for me since they are wireless BT units and just a pair of leds inside the car. This may or may not be an option for you and others as well.

When I worked at the local Ferrari/Maserati/Aston/Porsche dealer we had local NJSP come in and test thier radar units on our cars to see real world results and not internet comparisons. the K40 did very well even with laser when installed properly.

K40 has a decent radar detection capabilities, but absolutely fails as a laser jammer. Doesn't even alert to DALA...

Besides it is not a trickery to have a decent radar detection range nowadays. The trick is to filter out K Band falsing from BSM and door openers.

Radenso XP is one of the best windshield units for this. If you have to install remote, then go with Bel StIR+ (same as escort 9500ci but without shifters) or NetRadar, or Radenso HD+ (that's what I'm installing this weekend).

For the info go to abovementioned RD forum:

And RALETC test results:
