Default AC vent

Hey,
My right side AC vent doesn't open anymore. Has anyone faced a similar problem? Any help/suggestion on how I can fix it?

The vent stays shut while the other vents open when I turn on the car. It opens automatically after a few minutes. Really confused. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

once they are all open..go into your menu and disable the feature..this way they stay open all the time....Less gizmos to break or leave you without air flow from that vent.

The dash would have to be taken apart to fix it. Mine was fixed under warranty when it broke. The dealer replaced some components to fix it. I don't recall exactly what they replaced.

Guys,
Does the ENTIRE dash have to be taken apart? I had one that took a **** just this morning it seems. I am guessing it is just a motor that needs to be replaced. That's a ridiculous design flaw to have to pull the dash just to replace when it's something anyone of us could see would eventually fail.
Also, how do you get into the menu to find the spot to disable the rotation?
-Thanks

I have a MY 12 with a NAV screen..

Climate--> settings---> vent rotation always open (ON)

I set it like this from the first day I bought it...I don't need to see them opening for a thrill..Bad enough the shift knob pops up every time you start.

PS..I use to live by the Miller brewery on Wells.

No, you do not need to remove the dash. The long strip under the nav screen (wood trim) snaps in. Pull to remove that (disconnect the wiring that connects to it) and start removing bolts. It's fairly easy to figure out how to get the rest apart.

If it eventually opens then maybe it is just sticking. Spray a little silicone in the sides and see if it frees it up. It won't hurt it and is sure worth a try.
