Default XF Speed Limiter?

I have a 2012 XF Portfolio and am curious to know if it has a speed limiter. I know some cars are speed limited to the tire speed rating. Don't plan to find out for myself. When I bought the car the dealer swapped the standard wheels/tires for the 19" Aquilla wheels with Pirelli P Zero A/S tires but if there is a limiter I guess it would be set for the standard Continentals.

According to the specs in the 2012 US Sales Brochure, It is speed limited to 121 mph.

I can verify the speed limiter is set at 200 km/hr indicated (around 195 actual). I refer to this as Italian cruise control: you just put your foot flat on the floor and steer. The nice thing is the speed stays rock solid at the limiter because it is electronic throttle controlled so seamless to the driver, uphill downhill and round the bend the speedometer needle stays at 200 indicated. Marvelous.

i believe the limiter is no more than 130 for the standard car (not S/C) for US models

my 2011 XFSC goes off the speedo? I don't think the supercharged cars are limited by anything but space and nerve.

i believe S/C cars are limited to 155.

i remember the XKR's are also limited to 155, but an option extra increases it to 175

I agree with Jagular. 2009 NA Premium - 195 km/h verified (before I purchased ). It will hold that 195 quite nicely but gas milage gets out of control...it's worth it haha.

My 12XF Portfolio is limited to 125 mph. Asked dealer why and they stated it is a coded limit and against the law to remove. I don't drive that fast all the time, but why have that many horses and not let them run?

My XF is also spec'd as limited to 125. But I have gone beyond that a number of times.

I guess that's the reason I only got to 130 and not 155 with my car.

My 2011 XFR is limited at 162mph. Although the official documentation states a 155mph limiter, I have exceeded this number on multiple occasions. Unfortunately the car will not go past 162mph even though the power is there to place the car to at least 180mph.

Nice run to 162 patrickw813. The XFR is a beast. I have the SC but haven't fully opened her up yet. I got to 130 in mine but had to shut it down. I was running out of straight away.
