Cam Cover Gasket change

Cam Cover Gasket change
With the oil thread a couple of threads down in full swing it nudged me to check the oil.
On doing so I noticed I leak down the front edge of the cam cover, see it trickling down:
On the XK engines its so easy 11 studs a bit of wriggling and its off.
Now I now under here is the spark plugs and coil packs does all this have to be removed, I know the cover will have to come off
A few sentences from a man in the know how to change this gasket if some more fiddling is required would be welcome, I've not looked into yet but when I do it, I will post some images to help someone else

Your leak doesn't look too bad from the pics, but, if you want to change:
Buy gasket, 6 spark plug and 11 (or 13?) seelas for the bolts. That cost me around £50 in UK.
Remove cam cover.
Clean breather gauze/mesh inside cam cover with a suitable solvent, I think I flushed with petrol.
I couldn't get either the gasket or the spark plug seals to fit in the cam cover, they just kept falling out. Instead, I sat the plug seals in the head then wirked from the back of the engine forwards, fitting the gasket and all seals more by tough than sight. You could use vaseline to stick the seals into the cover, that wouldn't work fot me.
Then replace the bolts seals and retorque the cover. There is a sequence for retorqueing and it's best if you can get the TSB for the procedure - it might be in the archives. I can't remember the torque either - maybe 5-7lbs/ft but don't quote me.
