Default XJR factory stereo

Hello all, new owner of a 03 XJR and new to the forum. The factory stereo and CD changer in my car have been removed and replaced with a cheap aftermarket radio. I would like to reinstall a factory unit though there seem to be various different part#'s for the head unit, changer & amp. The Alpine speakers are still there at least. Any help on which are compatible would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin

I have all the parts that you will need, radio, amp, changer, etc but you should first need to make sure that the electrical connectors and wiring harness have not been butchered and are in good shape

Thanks, the rear harness is intact. I'll have to remove the aftermarket head unit to see how thing got spliced up front.

BTW how did phone integration work on the original stereo?

All the wiring was standard m there is a plug for a mike behind the overhead console and another electrical plug for the phone module underneath the storage tray in the center console. There is also I believe another plug for the antenna at the center rear of the headliner

Harness is still intact. I'm actually very impressed by the after market install; used the proper connectors to connect into the amp harness without splices. I would assume I could just plug in the replacement head unit, amp, and changer and be good to go. Am I on a fools errand though? Is the the factory stereo worth the effort to reinstall?

Thanks
Kevin

Depends on what you want I found w/ my previous X308 that an upgrade to the cabin speakers & a proper sub was stellar. The factory head unit was very nice it is an Alpine after all. If you want MP3/Aux options as well they're are threads here explaining the modification if keeping the interior's original lines intact is a priority.

My latest acquisition the factory head unit had dying stereo outs to sun baked speakers so I replaced everything & I must say I'm very pleased.

Head Unit : Kenwood DPX501BT
Speakers : Rockford Fosgate P-165 (6.5')
Subwoofer : Memphis Audio 12' ported in trunk
Amp : Memphis Audio 500 Watt

Even with the foam of the factor speakers descinagrating I'm OK with the factory head unit.
This weekend plans include replacing the door speaker with the same Rockford Fosgate P165's that king Charles used, and new foam for the REAR deck speaker.
BTW, I've got the Harmon Kardon system.
The addition of a aux input would be nice...

Default actually mine would be this one

But YES!
Question. If I remove my unit will the security have to be reprogrammed?

How much would you want for the bits & pieces?
