from the factory the pulleys were installed by a 20,000lb press, if this tool can get it off it passes the test of supreme legitimacy

In my experience with pullers it is usually best to make them as strong as possible the first time so you don't have to make tham twice.
Yours looks like it was designed with that in mind.
