Replacement Key and Fob source?

Can't help with the key as I'm based in the UK. But fob wise I got one from eBay and coded it to the car. A very easy procedure to do and the instructions are well published (I'm sure someone has the instructions on the forum).
Just make sure that if you do get one from ebay you get a fob with the same part number. The part number has to be the same or it won't code to the car. For example the part number on my key fob is LJA 2610 BB. Look for the same format of number on the back of yours and search for the same one.

Buying a used Fob and reprogramming it yourself is the lowest cost option. US and European ones are different frequencies so be careful if you search outside the US.
Here's the link to the programming instructions:

Keys aren't such good news. They have to be programmed by the Dealer or an Indy with the equivalent diagnostic equipment.

There website is below...
Express Auto Keys Online Shop - Modern Jaguar Car Keys Cut to Key Number or Photo
I THINK you need the one at the bottom of the page headed "Jaguar Early High Security Key - With Blank Transponder Chip". This is the 8 cut variant. The 6 cut variant is a little higher up on the same page. Both 8 and 6 cut keys cost the same at about $60 including shipping to Burbank. I've checked .
They even cut it for you for free. You can either take a photo of your existing key and upload it with your order or provide the key code yourself (very easy).
Check out this link. It explains how to do this....
Code reading "Tibbe" keys for Jaguar
Hope this helps. Like I said I ordered a key from these guys once and I have nothing bad to say about them. The coding of the transponder chip though will be indy with the right equipment or main dealer only. Might be worth giving the dealer a call to see if they are prepared to code a third party key before ordering. $350 is madness.

I will be getting the key from the UK in the meantime I ordered a GM key for my wife's Saturn Relay. It too has a transponder. The seller just emailed me the directions for programming the chip in the key. I wonder if the Jag has a similar programming procedure.
I've cut and pasted the GM instructions below. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the Jag dealer wanted $175 for a similar procedure.
Thanks everyone
Eric
Note: It is necessary to have all of your keyless remotes available prior to beginning
this procedure. All keyless remotes not present during the programming
procedure will not work when the programming procedure has been competed.
1. DO NOT depress brake pedal during this programming procedure.
2. Unlock all doors using the power door lock switch on door panel.
3. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in
RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode.
4. Within 20 seconds press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will cycle
to confirm programming.
5. Within 20 seconds, press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks will
cycle again to confirm programming.
6. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

Piglet John, seriously, in all due respect, you are on the wrong forum and confusing this thread. Your key is completely different than the two piece (two separate ^^^^ing pieces, a Fob and a key) found on the 308 series.
Your answers, good as they are, do not solve his problem. He needs to buy a fob, programmable quite easily, and then a key from a dealer, and have a dealer or independent with the right software program the key separately. Completely different than your "switchblade" style combination fob and spring-out key found on the 350 series (and various Landies and Range Rovers since 2004).
Now, if it is possible to yank a key off a breaker and have it reprogrammed for a specific new vehicle, I have yet to see that answer for a 308 key set.
