XJ8 flooded and won't start
Hello,
My 2000 XJ8 flooded and would not start after driving from the driveway to the garage. Someone told me that the car didn't have time to pressurize and I should try turning it over with the fuel pump relay unplugged (to bypass).
Can anyone please explain which relay switch is for the fuel pump or recommend an alternative solution?
Thanks in advance...

RE: XJ8 flooded and won't start
it doesn't start due to the fact that your not suppose to turn off a cold started xj. Two ways to shut off fuel ... 1st make sure your battery is 100% then put your gas pedal to the floor and begin cranking... then when it starts to sound like it's catching then decrease the gas pedal to allow fuel to enter... hold it cranking for up to 45 seconds if not started wait another 1min with it off before you start again. if that doesn't work then you will have to take out the relay... in the trunk remove cover you will see 3 going vertical ..and 3-4 going horizontal(looking from behind the rear bumper as you just open ur trunk).. it's the 2nd one going horizontal. remove then start cranking. good luck .. worse case scenario you will have to remove the spark plugs and dry out cylinders and plugs then squirt some engine oil in there.
