Default 2003 xj8 cooling system blowing hot coolant

I have a 2003 XJ8, 4.0 ltr engine. Vehicle runs at operating temperature but when you cut the vehicle off, coolant blows out of the recovery tank. Also, I have no heat coming from the heater and the A/C blows very cold but you cannot adjust it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You've got either valve problems or your heater core is blocked. Check to make sure somebody prior to you didn't butcher the heater hose octopus...there's lots of lines and tees behind/under the TB.

Bear in mind that you have an auxilliary cooling pump in the system which I think should run all the time.

It is a small motor with two spigots at 90 deg.

If you can put your hand on it and see if it's running?

Thanks guys. I have back flushed the heater core and that is fine. The Aux. pump is running and pumping fine. I think the only thing left is the heater valve matrix. yes, there are a lot of hoses. Not sure if they are hooked up correctly as I can't seem to find a picture of the correct assembly.

Found problem with over flow....bottom o-ring on cap bad. Replaced the o-ring and that solved the overflow problem. Still have a heater problem.

In the US, a 2003 is not an X350, it is an X308. The heating systems for the two cars are not the same so you might want to try in the X300-308 section. In this car, there is a solenoid operated valve in the heating circuit that can stick. You should check it for operation. It is normally open but can stick shut. If the pump is running, then it is probably the valve.
