That is not the first time you have drawn our attention to this person that is selling copyright documents on EBAY. Are you getting a cut of the profits or is it your account?

As the previous post to yours said, the same manual is freely available via the forum FAQ.

Hi
No - I provide a lot of information on the forum. I do not get any cut or money, but I do get thanked from the other forum members. Most of my posts and threads are information I have extracted from the JTIS software.

The JTIS software download that I have provided on the forum for members to download for free - does not cover the x350.

Also the JTIS is not as easy to use as Iguide PDF version of the Shop Repair Manuals he has created.

I appreciate all the effort that forum member iguide has gone through to provide a simple PDF file downloads. He has 2 offerings now - X308 and X350.

I hope he continues and creates these PDF files for the X-Type and S-Type soon.

The JTIS software is a 32 bit operating system application and will not run on MAC. Also the 64 bit win7 PCs need extra XP software installed to be able to run it.

If you look at all my posts and threads (over 600) you will note that my mission is to provide members with instructions, cost and vendor parts information.

A lot of the information comes from my research and my own experiences with our XJ8.

The last version issued covered up to 2004.5MY for some models so had some stuff for the X350.

Don't disagree there, the JTIS was shocking!

I am surprised he is not flogging the 06 on XK PDF workshop manual that is floating around as well.

Same here but unlike iguide I don't try and profit from it. I am all for sharing and I can understand a small charge to cover time and effort but $30 seems to be excessive especially when you are selling someone elses copyright material.

I personally wouldn't be in a hurry to associate myself with someone like that on a public forum but that is your call.

Hi Mr. u102768
Personally I find your reply posts here in this thread not helpful or informative.
Repair information for the X308 models is probably only available online from Alldata and Topix website subscriptions.

Both Alldata and Topix repair information prior to 2005 looks identical to the information provided in the JTIS software (which is also has copyright restrictions).

Forum member iguide purchased Topix subscriptions and downloaded and edited the information in the PDF files he created and is selling on EBay.

Here is iguide X308 PDF files download information thread:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...84/#post346441

The reason that keep posting the PDF download information is that some forum members are having a hard time with installation and using the JTIS software.

I happen to be IT network engineer and also have a lot of professional PC tech and programming experience.

I spend a lot of my personal time searching JTIS for repair information that is not shown in the text navigator (sometimes the information is part of the general procedures or description and operation).

Also the search functions gives too many items to look through.

Yes, I do find the JTIS shocking and also not very friendly.

My original query was to why you were actively promoting iguides EBAY auctions when someone has already shared a link to a free source. You have answered that.

Yup, so have I and I therefore also have workshop manuals for the new XJ, XF and XK but I don't sell them to people. I did it because I hope to own one of those fine cars at some point in the future. In the mean time if I see queries on the various forums that can be answered by some of the information I have amassed, I share it.

Congratulations, I work in I.T. as well and have done for over 25 years - you will understand about software piracy and copyright then.

We both have the same intentions, I was just bemused about how keen you were to be associated with software piracy and copyright violation but, like I said, that is your call.

I have my own Alldata/DIY subscription for our 2001 XJ8. I have found that it is also missing particular TSBs that I needed to fix a repair issue. Since I am not associated with any repair shop, they would not give me any assistance when I contacted them.

I primarily use their website for the standard labor hours and getting part numbers that I use to find prices and the parts vendors online.

I try to figure out the rest by searching the internet and the Jaguar associated forums. The repairs that happen frequently are usually easily found in the JTIS.

I feel for you although there is certainly a lot more information available than there used to be for the X308 and even more for the more recent cars.

When I bought my X308 XJR in 2003 I managed to get hold of the parts microfiches for it from the local dealer and resorted to using a micro-fiche scanner to digitise the contents. I had also done the same thing for my X300 and XJS. At least with those cars though I was able to buy real paper workshop manuals.

I then managed to get hold of an original, early JTIS to cover the X308 as well as the electrical guide and a TSB disk so had most of the info I needed.

Question i need a 2004 xj8 [x350] service manual

the info on ebay has been removed. any ideas? my drivers door inside latch return spring? snapped and i don't want to spend $1100. at the dealer to fix something i think i can fix if i just had a manuel. thanks, dave. __Hi Jim, thanks for the door handle info and references, and pics. i'm still wondering what component would have the spring to hold the drivers door latch in and not "flop" around. from the pages and pics you sent in the gaudin jaguar parts web; on body hardware/front door/lock & hardware/handle,inside[left]..part #11 i can't tell if that's the part that would have the spring @$56.25, that would be nice.. or the part #14,the latch for $282.50. would you have any idea?, or should i just call gaudin jaguar parts and ask them? sorry to be a bother, thanks for the help, Dave

Hi David
Welcome to the forum.
The XJ model selection in the JTIS21 software also includes the 2004 XJ (X350) and I have extracted infomation on removal & installation of the front door handle into these 2 PDF files:

2004 XJ (X350) Front Door Handle R&I.pdf

2004 XJ (X350) Front Door Trim Panel R&I.pdf

You probably should raise the door window all the up and remove the battery ground cable before removing the door panel.

Also, here are 2 jpeg files I created from the JEPC (Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog), the first one is the X350 Front Door Hand and Lock parts illustration and part numbers:

Name: X350FrontDoorHandleandDoorLockparts.jpg
Views: 3001
Size: 91.0 KB

Looks like there is a spring on the front door handle mechanism.

Second one is the X350 Front Door Latch parts illustration and part numbers:

Size: 72.7 KB

New LH front door handle retail list price is $66.25 plus shipping at gaudinjaguarparts.com (discounted price is $53.83) part# C2C2857 is superceded by C2C35773.
New LH front door latch retail list price is $378 plus shippping (discounted price is $282.50) part# C2C1839 is superceded by C2C30690.

hi Jim, thanks for the info. the handle i need info on is the INSIDE drivers door handle. i found a workshop manual on ebay, for $20. that has to be opened in pdf and i don't know how to do that very well. after several hours, i got something to open it, and labouresly found the drivers door handle. after getting the door panel off, it looks like i unplug the two elec. plugs, and two screws, to remove the whole handle set, and then replace the whole mechanism. just wonder how much and where i can find one. thanks, Dave

Hi Dave
The Left hand interior door handle assembly is part# C2C5121 and gaudinjaguarparts.com show it retail price as $76 plus shipping (discounted price $56.25).

I was wondering if the Right hand interior door handle assembly (part# C2C5119) could be used in place of the left one, but they are probably different, since they have different part numbers.

It probably does not make sense to buy a used door handle since new one is not that expensive.

Here is a JPEG file created from Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog showing the interior door handle and its part numbers:

Name: X350InteriorFrontDoorHandleAssemblypart.jpg
Views: 1290
Size: 60.3 KB

All PDF files can be opened with a PDF reader software (Adobe for windows or mac).

PS:
Here is also JPEG file that has the Removal instructions & illustrations on the interior door handle:
Name: X350InteriorFrontDoorHandleAssemblyInfo.jpg

Size: 92.3 KB
