Just to change a clock bulb!
REALLY?
The easy part is to pop off the wood fascia panel (as I just did it on my XK8). Then according to the youtube vid I watched you unscrew 4 screws that hold the center vents, release a couple of tangs and the clock pops right out and and the bulb is one of those with a plastic tag on the end that you just twist out. Not too bad for replacing a clock bulb except the vehicle in the youtube vid did not have a nav unit!
I gave up when I found the wood trim doesnt come out with the center console nav surround still in place, Really???? just to change a bulb!
Waiting for my new nav software disk to arrive shortly so there will be a bloody big clock in the middle of the car that even I can read hopefully

The centre console is quite easy to remove. Just pop the gear selector surround off (it's clipped on) and the rear vent panel (again, it's just clipped in place) and you'll see four bolts - two at the front by the gear selector and two at the back behind the vent panel. Undo these bolts and you can (carefully - mind the dashboard veneer!) ease the console back and out of the way. You're then clear to un-clip the dashboard trim and get to the clock.
Good luck!

Re the digital clock, I know, I was hoping it would show with the firmware update but I think that was on X or S types maybe? Bummer.
Thank you for the description regarding removing the center console, the dash etc but I think I will leave it until something else needs fixing behind the console. Hopefully never! Why not just have it so the clock panel prises off? Then it wouldnt be a Jaguar would it!
