Default EBC brake Pads.

Anyone know the part number for EBC red stuff, brake pads, for the front of a 2004 XJR.

Not sure about numbers, however, I recently contacted EBC in the UK to ask which pads they would recommend for my 2004 4.2 XJR.
They suggested Yellow Stuff.
I bought a set, fitted them and am now well impressed with the difference.

If I remember rightly, Yellowstuff are a step up from Redstuff and mainly intended for track use?
They tend to take a little while to warm up but offer excellent stopping power
Any pics of them on the car les?
How do you rate them compared to stock? Night n day??

If you go to www.ebcbrakesdirect.com and enter your car (select XJ from all the model options and then 4.2 Supercharged 2003-2006) it will bring up the red and yellowstuff part numbers
I would double check with them to make sure though
Also if youre in the UK you get free UK shipping and extra discount if you type scooby58 into the voucher box at checkout.

Yeah went to the site, I keep on getting different numbers, from one site to the next. Will take a pad out and take that in. Only one place that stock them here, next on is in Sydney. Would not like to go to "yellow stuff" as it states "racing" Even the "red stuff" the bloke said that's for racing, isn't it.
Thanks anyway.

Has anyone tried the Akebono pads? I know so one on this forum has used them and liked them. I think they are a little bit cheaper. My factory pads are new and I can't stand the brake dust. I plan on changing them in the spring.

There's been a few people on this site have used the Akebono pads and gave good reviews....All a matter of personal opinion I guess.
Certainly another option to consider

I replaced the rotors and pads at all 4 wheels. The Akenono pads are great! Good stopping power and the only dust so far is from the road.

Hi.
Since fitting the Yellow Stuff pads I find the brakes are much better, even from cold and definately in heavy rain at high speed.
No regrets here that's for sure.
