I wish Jaguar did more with non-neutral color leathers like they did in the 80's. My family had some lovely burgundy and navy blue leather XJ6's that were stunning with black dash and wood trim.

Hi all... Brand new to the forum and came across this thread.

I was curious how rare the red/cranberry interior was too as I just picked up a 2006 XJ8 VDP last week.

I personally find this color combo to be so nice I couldn't pass on the car.

Wow that's very unusual, Cranberry with Business Trays in the back, never seen that before!

As it turns out I bought the XJR in the pictures just above (off ebay).

Sooo what do you think about those B and C pillars being grey? =/ I'm ok with the roof and A pillars remaining as is, but I may re-upholster those B/C pillars to black.

 

It hadn't even occured to me actually...it doesn't look "wrong" with the grey, not that I even noticed it before.

But you would have to do the bit between the rear seat & the rear door in Charcoal as well...otherwise it would look odd.

But come to think of it the pillars need to be the same colour as the roof lining...?

Hard to say mate...i'm not going to try it. If you do make sure you get the colour matched properly, it's LEG Warm Charcoal.

 

The more I look at it, I think I'll leave it as is. At first it seemed odd having 3 colors (charcoal/red seats and a light grey ceiling and pillars), but it's growing on me.

Very nice Shaun. I saw that combination once in an S-Type R, don't recall seeing it in an XJR.

Heritage tan/charcoal is absolutely awesome combo.
I like it even more, than my combo of warm charcoal/ivory plus grey stained birds eye maple (which is kinda rare too)

 

That goes superbly with the black exterior.
