Default key fob programming

So I bring generic key fob to be cut and progamed at Imperial motors in Lake Bluff Il. It takes them an hour and a half and the charge me $145 bucks. Yikes. It get's better. I pull out and my display screen is going crazy cycling on and off ranomly going thru each application. It is functioning but going on and off. I can't turn screen off and my NAV wont turn on. I bring it back and they claim they did not touch that system and it has nothing to do with the key programing they did. Now the want to charge me for diagnostics. Any body else run into this nonsense?

Start with the basics and disconnect your battery for a few minutes. Reconnect and reset everything and see if the screen straightens out. While you are back there, check the spare tire well and make sure there is no evidence of moisture back there where all the electronics are.

Cheers,

Well, that's where I was headed. That's why I'm concerned about moisture in the back.

Don't be too hard on them about the diagnostic charge. It takes some time and effort to pin down a failure, especially on these networks and fiber optic circuits. Otherwise it's throwing expensive darts in the form of expensive parts.

Cheers,

The car worked fine before I brought it in . They say they had nothing to do with it . I am not buying that until someone can explain how there is no possible connection to the two. I tried the Battery reboot to no avail. The trunk bottom is dry. Any further idea's?
Thanks in advance.

Default Faulty key programming

Unless you have posted this story elsewhere on the internet, this is the second story I've heard about this happening during generic key programming. I'm sorry I don't have a solution to your problem, but you should continue to seek feedback regarding this. I'm a bit worried, as I'm about to have a new key programmed for my vehicle as well.
