Default Lincoln LS/ S Type Rear Questions

So I finally got my transmission issue sorted. Will be replacing a few front end components and well.... Finally installing my Autorotor. I figured being the car is kind of useless as it is without a traclock I wanted to solve this issue. If I recall its the early S type or Lincoln LS rear housing that will accept the ford 8.8 gears and trac lock units? What else is needed. And being gearing will be different id likely get that sorted with the tune as well. Who to go to? Thanks all....Been out of it for a bit but back in the game:O)

Glad to hear you got your issue sorted. I will be doing this soon too, have everything but the LSD which will arrive in the next two weeks hopefully. I went for the Trutrac over the Trak lok, as it supposedly holds more power and it's a helical one (like quaife) so you won't need to change clutches like on the trak lok. If you're not interested in needing a tune, just keep the XJR crown. I will probably keep my stock gearing as I quite like being able to cruise at low revs on the motorway.

Out of curiosity, when you say Autorotor, do you mean Kenne Bell? I have a 1.7 AR on my STR but they stopped making them many years ago as far as I know. It's absolutely transformed the car as far as power/sound is concerned, but has made it quite a handful when pushing on which I hope the LSD will remedy

Someday would like to install lower gears and a limited slip diff, car accelerates too slowly in first gear.

It's the 2.1 liter Kenne bell big bore Autorotor kit Andre used to sell. I have a brand new auburn pro diff I'll be using which was a left over from another project. I also have an assortment of gears. Just not sure what to do in that department. What year did you get the carrier from? And the axles are equal length now correct?

Think that was a 2.6 unless he sold you an older kit. Looking forward to seeing progress of the TS kit and LSD install. I got the carrier and driveshafts from a 4.0 s-type which I think it shares with the Lincoln LS. I'm not sure what you mean re the axles...

shoot I forgot it was a 2.6 ! I have a 2.1 on my ford. In the states the driveshaft is generally what goes to the transmission and the ones that go to the wheels halfshafts or in a solid rear axles. I'm definitely doing that rear end swap. Car stotally useless with the exhaust and intake mods it has not..heck it was useless stock
