my x350 2.7 tdvi is not starting
hi there i have a 2.7 tdvi that hasent been started for over 7 months and i went to crank it on sunday morning it will not start? why?
ive diagnosed it the fuel pressure is below 15 bar at the high pressure pump and my other code is main relay???
so where is this main relay located on this?
thanks saf

I would suggest you get the battery checked for crank amperage and voltage retained the battery. X350's are terrible and throw tissy fits when the voltage is even slightly low.
Even if you buy a new battery and fit it to check if that works, and return it if it doesn't. At least you will know that its not a battery problem. There is a specific procedure that you will have to carry out if you do connect a new battery. I will see if I can dig it out for you.
That's my tuppence worth.

Did you connect it using the correct procedure?
The vehicle will have lost a number of settings by the time you do reconnect the battery. The Jaguar procedure to re-instate these is:
1. Start the engine and allow to idle until the engine reaches normal operating temperature.
2. Switch the engine off.
3. Restart the engine and allow to idle for approximately two minutes (this will allow the ECM to learn the idle values).
4. Apply and hold the brake pedal, select drive and allow the engine to idle for a further two minutes.
5. Drive the vehicle for approximately five miles/eight miles of varied driving to enable the ECM to complete it's learning strategy.
6. Reset the audio unit and climate control assembly to original settings.
7. Reset the door window motors.
The Radio Security Code has been mentioned. I did think this was exclusively a UK feature but we have had reports on the forum of a very few US spec vehicles having a coded radio fitted. It is extremely unlikely your vehicle will be coded but your Jaguar Dealer would be able to provide the unlock code.
Which doesn't really help in your case because you can't start the engine. So you get all of the lights, the glow light as well for the plugs?
Have you tapped or banged the starter motor as you don't say it will turn over just not fire?
We are going to need a little more information.

P0562 is 'System Voltage Low'
P2507 is 'ECM Relay Circuit Low' and the ECM relay being u/s is a possible cause.
Can't find P0a94
Check relay R5 (the ECM relay) and fuses F8 (20A), F9 (15A) and F27 (5A) in the front (under bonnet) fuse box.
The fuel pump on the engine is a two stage pump (ie both pumps are inside the same body and on the same shaft) and the pressure between the outlet of the LP ('transit') pump and the inlet of the HP pump should be 6 bar, at least that's the pressure the LP relief valve opens.
The HP system pressure is 1650 bar.
You'd do better to ask in the UK Jag Forum http://www.jaguarforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=32 , the Tdvi wasn't exported to the North American market, only Aus, NZ, SA etc.
