Wheels - how is everyone filling up their wheel bays!!
Hi all,
After looking at some images here and elsewhere of the wheels/tyres on some of the x350's I can't work it out how some of you have made such a dramatic improvement to the stance of your cars. Wheels look fantastic how they fill out the wheel bay and appear wider.
Is it through wheel spacers or through different custom wheel offsets or just different wheels?
I have a 2006 XJ8 and the wheels seem to sit in quite far towards the car leaving a very considerable overhand which makes it look a little odd. Here is my vehicle ....
I think I need around a further 25mm of width but already the tyres on my vehicle are 255/40 19 so I can't work out what to do. Do people use spacers? I thought this option was not the best.
I have been reading about wheel offsets but to be honest I am not the sharpest tool in the shed so I am not sure whether I need less of the positive offset or more of the negative offset or more of the positive offset or less of the negative offset then I am lost (just writing that sentence confuses me ).
I am wondering if anyone can assist with some advice on how to achieve a decent wider stance with my wheels and tyres filling up the blank wheel bay areas. Whey size spec wheels do people think is best?
Thanks all
Happy Pappy

Hi Happy Pappy,
You'll earn photo-posting and post editing privileges when you've been a member for at least three days and have made at least 10 posts.
One post you should make is an introduction to tell us a little about yourself and your Jaguar so we can give you a proper introduction. Please visit:

And please read the forum rules here:

We'll be interested in seeing a photo of your car to understand why you feel your wheel wells are not filled as much as you would like. I am not aware of many of our members having to use spacers to change the track width of their X350s.
P.S. It's a good idea to use your User Control Panel to edit your signature to add the year, model and engine of your car so others won't have to ask if you forget to include that information in a post.
Cheers,
Don
