xj 2.7 diesel screeching noise
dear all
I have a xj 2.7 diesel 2006 ,as I came back from wales there was a loud air noise then I engine went into limp mode, when I stopped and restarted the light went off, but when I put my foot down there was a loud hiss from the drivers side there it went in to restricted performance mode, lucky for me I could still build the speed up to 70mph,has any one had this problem before ,I suspect the turbo .
thank you lee

Hi Lee,
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! I'm sorr you are having difficulties with your Jaguar.
I do not know much about the diesel engines, but hopefully some of our knowledgeable members will be able to offer suggestions.
It would probably help if you could have the car's electronic modules scanned for stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs, or "fault codes") which may help point the diagnosis in the right direction. A generic OBDII scanner can probably read most of the Powertrain ("P") codes, and that may cover your issues. Here in the U.S. most auto parts stores will scan for generic OBDII codes for free. But to read any proprietary Jaguar Network (U), Chassis (C) or Body (B) codes requires a specialized system such as the SDD system used by Jaguar dealers.
While you are awaiting replies from other members, please visit the New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum and post an introduction so we can learn something about you and your Jag and give you a proper welcome.
Cheers,
Don
