96 xj6 windshield wiper won't work! help!
hi guys,
my windshield wiper does not work. this has caused very dangerous driving conditions when big rains were pouring. please help me! i have the fuse checked and it's fine, and i called the dealer and ask for windshield wiper motor, and they told me they don't have that part in their catalog. can someone please direct me to the right way? thanks a lot!

I think you should contact ken@britishparts.com (he's our member as well ) He should have one in his catalog

here we go. a few years back I had an issue where my wipers went crazy. I'd move the switch into each and every position and it wouldn't to anything, and then sometimes when it would work, it would only work on the slow constant speed, and when it did that, you couldn't make it stop, it would just quit when it felt like it. ridiculous intermittent operation.
though in your case, there's not even intermittent function. sounds to me like whatever relay is responsible is thoroughly toasted.
& I had to print and scan pages out of my shop manual, but this should be what you need.

I too have a failed wiper system on my 1997, and have ruled out the two relays and the fuse. I suspect the stalk/switch or the wiring. I took a look at the wiring in the stering column, but before poking around I like to know if anyone has:
1-an actual wiring diagram?
2-The removal/replacement procedure for the switch/stalk?
Thanks

As for the replacement procedure I can help you with that as well. I replaced my wiper switch approx 2 years ago and it is not difficult at all to do. Once you have the steering wheel removed it's 2 bolts and a wiring harness. PM me if you need more detailed information or want that schematic

I just resolved my wiper issue
it appeared that the connection under the dash was the culprit
after testing the contacts at the wiper switch at the wheel
and confirming power over the pre black connector. things are now working properly
you can test this very easy
under the dash, locate and separate the black wire block (remove the cover panel and look for the black connector next to a yellow of similar size) (right side, same as stalk)
once a part using a 5 inch piece of wire on the female block, locate the black wire and insert your jumper into the block at that position then find any of the greens and insert other end of jumper and see what happens
you have taken the switch out of the loop.
