Default Are all X300 Vanden Plas always LWB?

Does this mean they always come with the neat airline style tray tables?

Does anyone know if they're short enough to fit in a standard 2 car garage?

Edit* Woops forgot to add this would be for cars released in the U.S. I sometimes forget other countries exist

I believe the LWB started in 1996 for the X300, but someone can correct if that's not accurate.

All the VDP have the "picnic tables" even on the XJ40 regardless of SWB or LWB AFAIK.

There have been some sporadic reports of late MY95 builds of LWB cars, but it is generally held that in the US market, MY95 VDP's were standard wheelbase. My 95 is shorter than the 96's, and yes, as Al said, tables were part of the package, irrespective of wheelbase.

I don't believe you'll have any problem fitting in a std. garage.

If 4 inches is going to be the 'deal-breaker' between SWB and LWB, then you have a TIGHT garage.

It's actually 5" on the XJ12's, I suspect the VDP's are the same. They also have another 1" in headroom.

Now that is interesting, I had no idea they also had more headroom.

Is this extra one inch of rear headroom on a LWB car only for the rear passengers?

Front and rear for extra headroom. Entire roof is 1 inch taller above the drip rail.

They made both short and long wheel base.
2005 all were short.
2006 optional.
The side profile is the give away. It was awkward for the time, they just added the inches past the front doors and raised the roof line 1 full inch.
There is a definite crease or seam line with the lwb roof.
The short wheel base looks more natural but the extra room in the back is HUGE.
Had them all, from xj12 to vdp all new back in the day. Lambswool mats and the seat adjustments for the rear passenger were great.
Later cars had rear seat heat as well a an option.
IMHO, A short wheel base xj12 is hot.
