Default Lug Nut Disaster

I absolutely hate the LONG REACH WHEEL NUTS CCC7029 used with my dimple rims on my 97 Jaguar XJ6. I simply cannot find the right size socket as it seems jaguar has made this a proprietary size. The closest I can come up with is 29/32 inch as 23mm seems to big. I have looked at every lug nut manufacturer out there with no luck. I either find the right lug nut socket somewhere and replace the damaged jag lug nuts or replace them with something aftermarket. PLEASE HELP

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

That's odd.

I have two standard four way lug nut wrenches in the garage, which both work on my Jag's lug nuts.

I've never had a reason to use a socket so can't state what exact size mine are.

Do you suspect yours have been swapped out?

22mm on mine, but as they are just a shiny chrome cover over steel lugs they have a tendency to deform and get stuck in my 22mm. Sounds like yours are starting to deform too.

better stick with the 22 mm six-point-only.
You might try a different brand, but I have always thought that 22mm lug size was one of few things that we all shared despite different markets, etc.

I have this problem too, in fact the chrome covers are so loose now that they won't even stay on for a few of the lug nuts. Is there a way to fix the chrome caps back on the nuts?

And any idea how I can prevent the rest of them from falling apart?

I don't think you can easily repair the caps once they are falling apart. But they tend to be tough and long lasting if the correct sized socket are used on them.

I think they get ruined when the wrong sized socket is used.

I have my wheels rotated many times a year since I drive about 20k miles a year, and mine have held up almost like new.
