Default Rear hub torque?

I'm a little befuddled. My 86 XJS and 87 XJ6 took 100 to 120 ft lbs of torque IIRC to secure the hub nut but the only thing I've found listed for the 97 XJ6L is 300 - 320 Nm or 220 - 236 ft. lbs. which seems like an awful lot of torque plus since all three hub assemblies are very similar, it would seem odd the 97 needs over twice as much torque applied as the other two.
