will an X308 intercooler fit an X300 XJR ?
apologies if I'm covering old ground - I can't find an answer to this on the 'net
Does anyone know if a V8 X308 intercooler radiator will swap into a 6 cylinder X300 XJR easily?
I asked a Jaguar wrecker n NZ but they had none, didn't know, and weren't interested in my question - just told me to stop mucking around with my XJR6 as it's a great car already !
I live in a hottish place - 30'C plus in summer, and it certainly affects XJR's performance compared to in cool weather. It suffers noticable heat soak on repeated full power bursts on hot days. I expect this power loss will be largely resolved with a new Bosch intercooler pump which should be fitted this week. I don't think the new pump will give more power, but should reduce power loss when driven hard - I will report back in about a week's time when I hopefully have the car back.
Depending on the success of the new pump, I would consider a custom intercooler radiator.
Has anyone had experience of the Eurotoys aluminium IC radiator?

Perhaps not an answer, but all I've seen on it here on the forum.

Yep, I had the same question.... never really answered. I haven't seen any dimensions for the X300 versus X308 intercooler radiators, and haven't seen them side by side. But looking at photos of them individually, the X308 appears larger... just not sure.
I suspect I'll have to keep an eye out for an X308 XJR at a local wrecker, pull the intercooler radiator and just see if it is bigger and will mount up to the X300.
However, here are some clues perhaps in the following fan upgrade write-up that shows the size of the X308 intercooler installed. With the larger capacity supercharger on the X308, I would think the intercooler radiator would be larger...

Here is Doug's thread where he installed an auxilliary fan to his X300 XJR, and I think one can see the intercooler radiator clearly, which may provide some comparison.

Ultimately it is about capacity and not dimensions alone though. So the real question is whether the X308 intercooler radiator has more coolant capacity.
I'm also thinking of using the XJ12 (and ROW spec XJR) oil cooler radiator as an additional in-line intercooler radiator. I picked one up from a wrecking yard last year, and it of course bolts right on. With the nearly 9 quarts of oil stock in the X300 engine, and my car never gets hot, I don't think the oil cooler is really a necessity.

Has anyone here tried a water/methanol injection system to cool intake temps down? I know some of the kits can get quite expensive but you can build your own setup for around $200-250 USD. It's worked well with turbo systems. Here's a site that'll give you all the info needed. Do It Yourself Water Alcohol Methanol Injection

I still don't have the answer to:
1) Is the X308 intercooler radiator larger capacity than the X300
2) Will the X308 intercooler radiator bolt right up to the X300
I suspect that until either I or someone else measures and tries, we won't know. So I keep an eye out for an X308 XJR to show up in one of the local salvage yards.
But until then here are some photos I've run across that may provide some additional clues.
