X300 different seats?

Yes it can be done but not necessarily a straight swap. Here's a few gotchas that you need to be aware of.
Rear seats - there are two different configurations for X300 rear seats/seat belts. Early cars have a centre rear lap belt. Later cars have a centre 3 point belt.
If you have the centre 3 point belt then the X308 seats should be a straight swap. If you have the centre Lap belt then don't even try it.
Front Seats - the physical mounting points for the seats is the same for X300 and X308. There is a significant difference between the early X300 and X308 in terms of the electrical connectors for the motors. It may be on later X300s the connectors are the same - I don't know.
I overcame the problem of wiring by removing the complete leather cover and foam from the X308 seats and fitting to my existing frame. Not straight forward but very doable. There are side Air Bags in the X308 seats that I needed to remove and replace with extra foam.
Another difference I found was the seat belt warning works differently between X300 (early) and X308 - a normally open switch v a normally closed switch (can't remember which way around). I just disabled the seat belt warning for this but if required it would be straight forward to rig up a relay or two to sort that out.
Also, I can't be sure as memory is fading but you may need to do some work around the seat belts themselves ( I think there was an issue with compatibility between belt and stalk).
I've got no experience of X350 seats but I'd be astounded if you could make them fit an X300.

As long as you have a standard X300 and not a Vanden Plas, aftermarket seat leather is available. Check out this site......https://www.lseat.com/products/1995-...FQ9EfgodcToM1g

A few months back, while at one of the salvage yards,I tried to disassemble one of the seats. It was fairly easy to remove the material from the seat but I couldn't figure out how to actually remove the upper portion of the seat assembly from the lower portion. Do they not come apart? Is it one whole assembly?
