So last night i buttoned her up (for now). I was able to complete the assembly of both sides using the new arms/ball joints. My spring compression tool worked awesome. Tightened up both the control arm bolts with the suspension under load. Same went for the lower bolt holding the new Sensen shocks alongside new poly upper shock mount bushings. Also installed new OEM Jag swap bar bushings. The upper ball joints and sway end links felt great. I am impressed with the shocks. They do their job and are nice and comfy. Cant complain for 120 bucks. But the best thing to say is that its got no more suspension noise!!
She made her first real voyage with me this morning! 30 minute commute to work! No surprises. Almost as soon as i got to work at exactly 7:15, it started beeping at me like it was reporting an error. No messages on the dash, the temp looked good, plenty of fuel, and it was driving fine. Besides the time on the clock, i have no idea why it was beeping at me. Other than that, she drives very well. The wheels need to be balanced and i need to get an alignment once i get the tie rods sorted. The outer tie rods are due to arrive today. I unclamped the inner boot on one side and took a bunch of measurements to see if i can find one that will work using Moog's list i mentioned.
Other issues include Error 1 for the CD changer. Would be nice to get that working until i can get the bluetooth interface adapter (A2D-JAGR Audio Streaming Adapter for 1997-06 Jaguar XJ and XK with CD Changer :: Bluetooth & Streaming Audio).

another development. Got the key fob working again. Took it apart and the carbon buttons for lock/unlock were destroyed. We have a conductive adhesive backed tape here at work, so i stuck a dot of this tap on each button nub. Key fob works now! But now it activates the seat to move to a memory position. I believe the potentiometers in the seat are bad, so i found the seat back slightly and the seat back totally reclined and forced into the back seat. My mirrors also moved. The position on the wheel was set to "off", which i thought meant the memory system was deactivated. The memory buttons seem to have no input, and i cant program one by hitting memory, then a number. No lights or numbers. Does this mean that section of the window switch is bad?

The steering column switch "auto" mode is the ease of exit mode, so when you turn the car off, the seat moves back and the wheel moves up, and vice versa. Leave off if you like your adjustment motors to last longer, or if your position pots aren't working. It always seemed unnecessary to me...
Could be the window switchpack, or maybe the seat module? I don't remember where the seat settings are stored. There was also something in the security handbook about disabling key recall, but I'm not sure if that's what you need, or if it would even work if the memory buttons aren't working.
Maybe the beeping is an error in the climate control system? You can check codes for it, I forget the button combo but there's a guide to it in the bottom of the FAQs sticky.

If memory serves well, you can store a different seat / wheel setting to each FOB.
I forgot the exact procedure, but it was something like pushing a FOB key after storing the position into the memory I II III keys, or something like that.
EDIT: I agree with Nilanium on the beeps coming from the HVAC unit.
Clear the codes, and see what comes back (or not).

i tried to look up the code recalling procedure last night. i know ive seen it somewhere. will keep looking!
Last night i disassembled my CD changer to reclaim bob marley and to modify it for RCA's. I completed most of the checkout procedure for the above bluetooth adapter and it came out to be over 70 dollars. ugh. I said to myself, there has to be a better/cheaper way. I mean the adapter is just intercepting the signal to the head unit from the cd changer, and adding bluetooth as the audio connection. Following GOPI's DIY, i disassembled the CD changer and added the left/right signal RCA's and ordered one of these up:
Snagged one of the used ones for 24 bucks. It will arrive tomorrow and be installed Saturday. Just need to wire it to ign power and ground and were rockin. The reviews are mostly good, just want to check for noise issues and connectivity issues. I read that it doesnt auto connect, and i have to pair it each time i get into the car. That could be annoying, but if it works OK then ill keep it. Worst case is i return it and try something else. But ive done the big work by adding the inputs and can connect anything to them now.

Ah, yes, i am blind. I checked it last night. Codes 23 and 44. PDF says 23 may come up in cold weather. I also had the pressure sensor connector undone when i thought i would be tearing into the ABS module for the solder fix, so that might have done it too. I cleared them both and cycled the key and she's still beeping at me. Didnt check it again. Its beeps 5 tones, then a pause, then again 5 tones. Not sure how many cycles it does, but its excessive.
nothing else to add. The bluetooth receiver arrives this evening. I will likely installed it tomorrow. I will also be doing the coolant tower swap to aluminum. I am hoping i do not have to remove the crossover pipe to do it. I didnt think to buy new seals for it.

Bluetooth adapter arrived. Loosely hooked it up and it sounded terrible, so it is getting returned. Straight headphone jack hookup sounded great, so i may just be running RCA extensions up into the cabin.
Do i need to remove the coolant crossover to do the cooling tower? I would prefer to order new seals for it before disassembly.

Got this message halfway through the job last night. Yes, need to remove the crossover. I flipped the seals and reused it. No leaks yet. Those coolant tower rear bolts are a serious pain. Ended up finding two allen headed bolts to replace them with. Used a ball ended wrench to tighten them down. Replaced the bypass rubber and buttoned it up. Everything seems to be working fine for now. The piece of mind is great.

Been driving the car around today. 30 min Commute and to lunch and back. Coolant smell is slowly going away (a bunch spilled in the valley during tower removal). No low coolant light, so i think the level is OK. The temp is rock solid in the middle, so i am pleased that the new thermostat is working well. No leaks that i can tell, though i will check tonight when i get home now that it will have a handful of hot/cold cycles on it.
The constant beeping is driving me nuts. I'm in the car, just started it and shes beeping at me. 5 tones and a pause, 5 tones and a pause, and so on. Goes on long enough that im a half mile from my parking spot and yelling "shutup already!". I will recheck the HVAC for codes and see if any have returned. It seems to work fine otherwise. Any other reason for this beeping? Like i said, no error messages on the dash.

No error on the hvac screen. I will check for the airbag light next time I start it.

Ok so i turned the key to the on position and turned the CC off. Key back off, then back on and looked for an airbag light. Actually had to google its position since i couldn't find it. Right most "pod" just to the left of the high beam indicator is where it should be. I get no light with key on. Is it supposed to come on with the key? or only with a fault? can someone confirm?
It seemed as though the beeping stopped sooner with the CC off, though i may have been distracted with the airbag light. Will verify.
EDIT: Tried turning off the CC when i started the car for lunch. No change in the beeping. I dont think its CC related. I now suspect the airbag light being out. Can someone confirm is comes on with the key? How do i clear an airbag fault?
