Question cigarette lighter on a single fuse?

i have two 2000 xj8(s)....one is a long......i do not use the cig lighter outlet....but recently tried to charge my smart phone....using the outlet.....i noticed the red light on the charger.....would not light up and the phone would not go into charging mode.....so i tried the cig lighter /mobile phone charger on the other jag.....it worked fine....

in the long where the charger does not work.....in the cig lighter.....i can not see any loss of function in any other electrical out put.....dash lights are fine interior lights fine, horn, heater, ac all working fine.....leading me to ask...

is the cigarette lighter on a single fuse?.....of course the other possibility is that the insert/socket of the lighter is bad or needs to be replaced... and juice is not getting to the charger.....but i think not, the inside looks brand new and secured.....and probably never used....so what is going on?.....i am checking my user manual right now...to locate where this fuse is.....

I believe it's a single fuse for all the cigar lighter outlets in the car and nothing else. There's some confusion as to which fuse to change out, but mine was in the trunk (03 XJ8). Some say it's under the back seat behind the kick panel.

Mine was blown when I got my car 1 1/2 years ago -- replaced the fuse in the trunk and it's been working ever since - and I use it every day.

Check fuse #5 in the trunk. Should be 25 amp.
