Default Faulty actuator/key fob issue

2003 XJ8
Can a “sticky” or partially working drivers door actuator prevent me from programming my key fob? I have tried everything, and all I get is the initial “ chirp”, indicating that it is in program mode, and then two beeps when the car exits the programming mode. I have programmed many of these, and am frustrated. My drivers door will lock and unlock everything using the key manually, but when opening the car from the inside, I have to “ease” the handle back for it to engage.
Everything locks and unlocks normally - when engaging gear, etc other than no fob.
Many thanks in advance!

Do you have another functional fob to verify your suspicion? I gather you may have another because of the from what you've stated. If you do, have you tried re-syncing it? ...or have you Frankensteined any to make one? The implementation of the (1) 2032 battery vs the (2) 2016, woke up a fob I couldn't get to program.

Hello my friend, thank you AS ALWAYS for your help.
I do have my old fob. The only reason I bought a new one was that it was getting increasingly harder and harder to make the lock and unlock buttons work. The trunk and headlight buttons were fine, but I decided to get a "new" one anyway. I have recently had the drivers actuator replaced, and now neither the old or new fobs will program. As I stated, it will enter the program mode (2 chirps) but then after about 10 seconds, exits the program mode (2 BEEPS) without success. The "new" actuator is a bit touchy...generally I have to :ease: it open for it to unlock from the inside, and subsequently unlocks all doors. That's what I was asking...can the actuator be my problem?
Both fobs currently have a single 2032 battery.. the old fob DID work until the that drivers door actuator I replaced completely quit working, I am assuming the battery config is good. Do you think changing to the 2 2016's would help?....or could it even BE the new, sticky actuator issue?
I also thought maybe the SLM could be an issue?
Sorry to lay all that on you but wanted you to have the whole picture.
Thanks man...I see you like J.B.? I was in Biloxi, MS last weekend to gamble and go see a friend sit in with a band he had been bragging about. They were EXCELLENT.
Here are some pics.
The young girl playing that '51 Tele is J.Bonomassa.'s girlfriend, and the guy on the sax is George Thorogood's sax player, and the other dude is her step-father! It was a great show, outdoors, killer bar and on the Gulf in Bay St. Louis!

That is really cool, J.B. is such a prodigy, how can you not like his music. That is quite the quiver of artists you got to see...and the Gulf area is a great place to get to see them. Joe has a cruise that looks like a go next year, he has a ton of blues legends and they play the whole trip. https://www.bluesaliveatsea.com/ ...btw, note that he has Charlie Musselwhite as a guest. He's my other video link below and that's the short version, the original is 11 minutes.

Yeah, as for the fob, I was pretty sure of what you were saying...thus I wanted to see if another fob did the same thing. In that case, yes, I would be highly suspect of the new actuator not showing a completed circuit so the system will work. I would simply make sure the connection is good first at the actuator.
As for the old fob, look on the back of the finger pads and see if the dimples are worn or smashed down, thus causing you to press harder to get it to function.

If you have one bourbon, one scotch and one beer you won’t need the key fob for awhile.
