Default Has anybody tried fitting one of these radios

I've been searching all over the place for a descent radio to replace my radio tape deck. I wanted something with HD radio because I didn’t want to go backwards in technology and with navigation. Just about all radios of this standard are 2 dins which we all know would require major altering of my car, which is something I don’t want to do unless totally necessary. I ran across these radios made by Pumpkin specifically for BMWs. I know I would have to retro fit for my car but the radios are single dins which would be easy compared to double din radios. What I’m worried about is the electronics would my steering wheel functions be usable and such. What do you guys think? Has someone already tried this? Below are some of the radios, they can be viewed on amazon by these titles.

7 Inch Wince 6.0 in-dash Single Din DVD Player Stereo Touch Screen Navigation for BMW 3/E46 Series Support iPhone 6Plus/6/5 iPod Input/SW-Control/Rear Camera (Come with Rear Camera and Map Card)

Couple problems. The biggest, is fit. First, the contour is designed to match the BMW dash so it's going to look very strange. Then the rear is going to not fit your opening without some major work to clear around. The rear of our radio, the "guts" are on the bottom of the opening, and there's not much room to wiggle with. On top of that, these units are notorious for limited steering wheel control functions, and that's in the car they're actually designed for! (I know, I have a different unit in my 328ci). Even though they say "single DIN", they are only referring to the thickness of the body in the rear.

You'd also have to get creative wiring their harness into ours. By the time you get all done, you'd be better off with a fold-out touch screen single DIN radio, and try to adjust upward as best as you can to try to clear the shift lever, while using a simple bezel plate.
