Oh sorry, my mistake...I did not mean the glass window area...I was asking about the black window door frame and the black center area between the two doors, on my XJR all that is chrome, not black...so I was wondering if you did it or if it was Euro/factory that way.....

That was the way the XJR came, only for the US market they had the extra chrome as on your car.

At least they come with color match door handles on the exterior. I still think the extra chrome handles on my US XKR looks really stupid given the rest of the car has basically no chrome/stainless. It'd make more sense on the XJ given the chrome/stainless window frames at least.

[QUOTE=Rpach10115;1635500]The new wheels on the car:

So, was this a project that you turned into an XJR? Or did it start as an XJR? Never saw that color? Looks nice? I live on Long Island too. Before I retired the car to my FL house, when my son became 17, he got to use it for a while. Its been his favorite car for years. So, I now keep it and cant wait until i give it back to him. I'm happy to see you younger guys recognize how great these cars are. They are not only sexy and beautiful, but if you do the maintenance, they are reliable. I have 98,000 miles, and runs and looks like new!

Wow Eric, you know I think you have a great looking car, but you couldn't have parked more perfect to have that guardrail reflection roll down the center seam and accent it...bravo.

Thought I'd dig out the pipe dream, XJR-C - ultimately crushed when an XKR donor car purchased on CoPart mysteriously went missing!
I stumbled on this photoshop image I did maybe 6 years ago, still irks me as I had a spare new factory bodyshell.

You are right, the car runs at the non-USA XJR settings, which is some 3/4" lower than the normal XJ8.
That, together with the 245/45 and 275/40 tires (larger diameter than the XJR 255/40) gives the look.

Now the little mystery ...
The car is fitted with the comfort shocks and comfort springs, and according all forums, those comfort springs should be longer, giving an increased ride height.

Jaguar used 2 different heights of spring adapters, and the only thing I can think about is that I got the smaller ones in this car.
I will need to replace my rear shocks in the coming weeks, and will find out.

The springs may be longer, but will be softer too, so the net result might be basically the same?
