Disable Alarm System
Hi all,
The buttons on my remote control key fob are going bad. I tried to repair them with a rubber keypad repair kit (circuit works CW2605). It worked fine at first, but after two months the remote is becoming more difficult to operate.
Does anyone know if it is possible to disable or bypass the alarm system?
I will be trying to insert microswitches in the remote while trying to retain the original look. Any tips or tricks are, as always, very welcome.
thanks,
Leo

Disabling the alarm is possible with factory diagnostics, IDS/WDS, I wouldn't recommend this as it will effect your insurance.
There are remote refurb guys in the UK at least that replace the buttons. A thorough cleaning (flood each button and press repeatedly to free them up) with rubbing alcohol or lighter fluid, removing the green goo from the buttons can breath life into them, I wonder if there's a similar service replacing them offered in the US, there must be?!
Hope that assists.
