Default transmission woe's

2002 xj8 120400 miles just changed the transmission fluid and filter. I drained fluid which was black so changed filter refilled then ran for 200 miles . decided to remove filter again and remove valve body cleaned everything put all back with new filter refilled with Pentosin ATF 1 now problem when I first put it in drive to go, it slips for the first 2-to 300 yards then it shifts great took on freeway no problems only dose it on cold start what did I do wrong.??? I never had a problem with the transmission before with the dirty fluid. any Idea what I did wrong thanks jrb53

Maybe the Pentosin doesn't work the same?

The Pentosin ATF 1 is the correct fluid. I use it in WV/Audi 01M and 01V as well as the ZF 5HP24.

Maybe the valve body was reassembled incorrectly and/or leaking somewhere???

I've got the Transgo valve ready to go in my car, it really is a recommended thing to do to preserve you from heartache later on. Best of Luck to you.
