Default wet footwell 1998 xj8

can anyone tell me how to stop my annoying leak? the passenger footwell,(UK car, left side) has become really wet since our latest rainy spell,(the last two weeks!) I pulled up the carpet and poured some water over the windscreen and found it running down the bulkhead (firewall) in the footwell, any suggestions?

Unfortunately, ricasso, he's right. You'll have to trace the leak up through the bulkhead. Most likely, it's a fault in your windshield seal.

Start by pouring water in specific areas a little at a time with the carpet pulled up, and you'll have to do trial and error to find exactly where it's coming from.

thanks Motormouth,i'l give that a go, ive put some silicon sealer on the lower part of the windscreen seal, unfortunately that wasnt it (its still raining inside and out!) i'l have that plastic grille off again and try your method, I cant see any build up of water underneath it so presumably the drain (wherever that is!) is working
