One more, cause not me, but this car really "got it" .

By the way, this was the last expense on the VDP, besides of the regular maintenance.
The focus will be directed to the XJ-S, a lot more work to do.

Finally got around to reassembling my dash(new bulbs & chrome bezels),weeping willow burl wood inlaid growler shifter & thoroughly cleaned the inside. My son & his cohorts tend to have their very own cloud of dirt following them when they hop in lol. May take her for a spin on the waterfront on this lovely Carolina Sunday.

Yes an honorable forum member turned me on to those lol.

New headliner, head unit, seats re-sprayed,bezels,knob. I think I am through w/ the interior(minus the lazy seatbelt issue). Now to tackle the paint(clear coat on hood's showing it's age w/ this southern sun & precipitation) & she'll be sitting pretty.

Feels good to whip these gems around when they're clean & in proper formation so to say lol.

Gave her a nice bath and got to enjoy some warm weather finally!

P.s. Does anyone know where I can find clear side marker reflectors in place of the amber ones? (front or back)

Also, suggest any mods! Under the hood I've got lightweight pulley, intake, and exhaust (super quiet)...thinking of bypassing the mid muffler with an X pipe but scared it'll scare the neighbors

Took the Jag out for a nice drive on a nice 80 degree day. Window down, music playing, driving through the vineyards; it was perfect!

Also quick detailed!

You brought urself in a difficult position; with that new-looking bumper the rest of the car is shouting for a re-spray as well .

New shaded windshield for the 98 the other day. 18 years and we'll over do.
And a bath today. Not bad for a $1300 car

All to come. I want a different colour but until then, the car will simply be one colour (though several different conditions and nuances at once )

With the help of this forum I conquered one of the last remaining interior nemeses, the lazy/slow retracting seat belt. Countdown to paint is now on !

I replaced the front anti-sway bar bushings on my 03 XJR. The DIY I followed just showed it all being done on jack stands, and everything was surprisingly easy. My BMW requires putting torque on the bolts with the car on the ground (load on suspension components). I saw no mention of that for the Jaguar.

I torqued them while on jack stands. Should i go back and do it again with weight on the wheels?

Default Futzing with my sunroof

Spring is here in Minnesota so I removed the trickle charger and started my 1999 VDP right up and took it out. Had to open the sunroof, of course, and upon closing, it always ends up in the slanted open position. I am not able to get it to close completely and seal properly so now will perhaps try the hard reset technique. My windows all work perfectly! Crazy!!
Wish me luck!

You can if it makes you sleep better, but it should not make any difference since the bar moves within the bushings, the torque on the bushing bolts should have no effect.

I did mine on jackstands.

Rightyo then... I replaced the right hand side O2 sensor, as the car was misfiring and stuttering. Idle was really bad. I used a universal sond from Bosch... Yes, I read that universal sonds don't work right but after checking and running, no check engine lights, no fault codes, no nothing. Engine idles like new.

Just need to kick the engine harness designer in his *****, as he thought it would be good to put all plugs on the rear of the engine. All other manufacturers fit something like that on the bulk head or in other areas...
