What's your favourite X308 Colour?
Thought I'd see what people's favourite colours are for the X308 range. For the poll I've kept it basic, but feel free to tell us your exact colour in the comments.
My favourite colour for these cars is Red despite having a Zircon Blue car myself and two silver ones previously. I wish they'd offered the XJ in Phoenix Red like they did with the XK and early X Types, that's a lovely colour. I like it so much I had my Triumph painted in that exact colour.
Now might get controversial here, but my least favourite colour for these cars is green. I'm not a fan of British Racing Green on any car except 4x4 and Military vehicles truth be told.
So get voting and let's see what the census says.

Ha, nice one!
I think the body shape can actually have a variety of colors to look good, but I do agree here with you (yeahhh.. ), Phoenix Red is probably the nicest one.
Besides red, most metallic colors fit the shape just fine, however I have never liked the black on these cars.
I myself have a Spruce Green Metallic, which is a whole lot darker than the BRG, and has an almost blue shade over it depending the light, and on pictures.
EDIT: I think I hit the green mistakenly ... so now how do I correct?

A black cat is the only way to go imo but a black Jag was always one of my personal dream cars, I can understand any other color preference too. I have agd/oatmeal interior btw, its aight To each their own. edit: Forgot to mention my car is actually sprayed BMW jet black, so I guess I can't really take part or be useful in this post! aye yay yay

Been shopping for a newer sedan and really bothers me that all the used cars are black, white or somewhere in between. No imagination whatsoever. Even to shop for NEW cars, they'll offer a range of options in greyscale plus one sort of "earthtone" color for those people who think that even silver requires them to wash their car too often.
I've always been partial to medium to dark blues, but I like red, yellow, green and orange, too. When shopping for a used car tho, condition and maintenance records tend to be more important than color and so I wound up with Spindrift White.

Colour...? I'm partial to the ones in red. Green too, but the red ones are the ones I find are the best looking ones and voted for. However, any XJ in any of the original colours look nice, don't they?
However, is appears to me that you all know the colours of your cars? I don't. Nowhere on my doors or doorposts do I find the stickers with that information. Strange as other stickers are there and look like new. Do any of the stickers in the engine compartment say anything about colour, like this one:
The one thing I do know about my car is that it is blue. Nice colour, really, but way too common and slightly boring:

Clean or dirty?
I'm partial to Carnival red, but for the last 15 years my Jags have been daily drivers and commuter cars. Always had at least 25 miles each way, so the worlds best seats made the XJ40/X308/X350 my weapon of choice. All those miles on dusty/slushy muddy roads have made me appreciate a car that doesn't need a bath every day. My Plum 93 was the worst. My Topaz metallic 01 is the best. I'll go Topaz if I get to choose.

By the way
Along the way, I've noticed a high percentage of buyers who have strong preferences regarding Black:
Group A, me included, would buy any color, as long as it wasn't black.
Group B would buy black and nothing else.
I feel the same about interior colors, having had 2 trucks with black leather, and 4 Jags with ivory/biscuit/barley. No black, ever again. Period.

My first two XJ's were silver the first being Platinum and the second being Meteorite Silver. The Platinum was a pure silver and it looked good with the full chrome package fitted to the Sovereign model in the uk. Meteorite had a hint of gold to it, so in different lights it would look different colours.
I'm very happy with the Zircon Blue on my current XJ, it's a very rare colour on the model and makes her stand out a bit amongst the bland modern traffic.
Interior wise I started with Oatmeal, had Ivory in the second and I've come back to Oatmeal. I found the Ivory got dirty far too easily and the light coloured carpets fitted in the first & second car got dirty too quickly. Especially as I work in dirty transport yards and I was living in a rural area. With the Oatmeal seats and Black carpets I've got a good compromise on seat colour and carpets which don't get dirty too quickly.
Irony is though I'll never take this XJ to work and if I've got any dirty work to do I'll use my little runaround car for that.

I'm partial to black lately, had it on my 3-series, and now the Jag. It's absolutely gorgeous when it's clean, and waxed, and looks like it's just dripping wet. Sadly, that goes away the first ten feet you drive.
It's not to say that I am dead set on it, or that I wouldn't ever purchase another color, and there are some great other colors out there.
