That car is one of the best looking cars ever made period ( not in its current condition). Shame on whoever owns it and whoevers trying to buy it for $100!
That car is worth over 200 grand in good condition!

here in the states there was a TV program, called FAST MASTERS, on speed vision.

back around 1994-1995, popular race drivers, were given brand new XJ 220s, and slamed and banged till they pulled out of race or won.

i was ashamed that FORD sales would do that as a publicity stunt, they excuse was to reduce overall count of XJ220s, there by increasing value.

must have worked ,look at prices now, if they were plentiful the value would be less today.

remember in business its all about the money, not the product.

My heart breaks seeing this, I hope the sandstorm explanation is true and not a case of spoiled rich people neglect.

I was at the LA Auto Show today and briefly walked around the Kentia Hall area where they have all of the weird afterthoughts, like strange unique hyper-expensive cars, folks selling all kinds of waxes and gizmos, high-end aftermarket sound systems costing umpteen thousands of dollars, humongous wheels. . . you get the point.

There were also a bunch of absolutely ridiculous cars like tricked out Rolls-Royces, Lambos, Bentley's, Aston-Martins, many with the flavor-of-the-moment matte paint jobs. Mixed in with the various cars I spotted an XJ220 in a matte black finish. I didn't really have time to stop and look closely or even verify whether it was a real XJ220 or a replica. However, the looks of the thing are still incredible and was every bit an attention grabber, or more so, compared with the super-exotic other models nearby.

i had a MATTE black car in 1953, called black primer, believe me, matte paint is just another passing phase.

No kidding! The cars I saw at the show that were matte painted (several of the Mercedes AMG models, a Rolls-Royce, and even a white matte Jaguar XJ, look pretty decent in the environs of an auto show where the lighting is perfect and there is someone around to dust the cars every 5 minutes. But the few times I have seen matte painted cars on the street, they look like s**t. Basically my first impression every time I have seen a matte painted car on the street is that it looks like the person forgot to have their car washed. Then it finally registers that they have a matte paint job. I swear that here in Los Angeles, if some celebrity suddenly thought it was cool to have ferret feces wiped all over their car, in 2 weeks you would see the lemmings follow suit. Basically, this was the way the Hummer trend started--when Arnold and other celebrities decided it was cool to be driving around in a desert storm vehicle.

Pretty much. To see a burned out Lamborghini burned on the side of the road isn't odd from what I hear in Dubai. At least the Rat Pack guys would buy a new car when the ash tray got full but traded in. As far as how dirty the car is, just leave it out overnight and that would happen.

I do find it unusual that some claim to live a lifestyle of morality and restraint (in some way I guess) all while leaving things like this out to rot. I'm not turning green with envy over the amount of money some have access to but you have to wonder if anything has a value to people that do these sort of things.

The XJ220s truly have great presence. They are huge, long, lean, low, and uber exotic looking. I think they are one of the best looking, if not THE best looking super cars of the period, or ever. Too bad they get brought into sand-storm wastelands like those and get ditched on the side of the road by barbarian royals and superrich sand harvesters.
