Jaguar XJ6 4.0 1993 American Version
Hi!
Could somebody please advise what is the Jaguar part number for the electric antenna on my jaguar XJ6 4.0 1993, American Version..or at least a suitabe replacement.
Mine is old, crooked, does not go all the way up....Time to change. I have decided to keep the radio (DBC6436), so the car will have a 100% authentic look...
Thanks!

The antenna is made by Harada industries, part number is LNA4120AA. If the motor is OK you can get a replacement mast, but I opted for a complete (used) unit.
Avg price for working unit on eBay, about $100 or so. AFAIK there is no difference in European and US model XJ40 antennas and quite a few later models (x300 etc) use the same unit.

Hi Portamno,
If your motor still works, you probably just need a new antenna/aerial mast. They're widely available, easy to replace, and inexpensive if you shop around. Here's a current listing on eBay:
Chrome Power Radio Antenna Mast for Jaguar XJ6 XJS | eBay
Your rubber grommet may also be perished. It's Part 6 in the diagram below:
It looks like the grommets are still available from Jaguar:

To replace the grommet you have to unfasten the motor and drop it down so you can pull the old grommet out and then reinsert the ball end on the top of the motor housing into the underside of the grommet, then install the new antenna mast. Not hard - just a little more time consuming.
Let us know if you need any help and we'll walk you through the process.
Cheers,
Don

Don, that mast you referenced in the eBay link (DBC2200) is only good for the Hirschmann antenna (discontinued in 1993 at vin#687218 AFAIK), the OP needs to check his vin as he may have the later Harada unit fitted - the "tail" of the Hirschmann is flat whereas the Harada uses a round tail. Just an FYI.
Larry,
You raise a good point. I did see the part change at that VIN break, but since the OP described his car as a 1993, and the VINs for that MY ended at 687218 and the 1994 MY began at 687219, I didn't think I needed to bring up the possibility of the Harada antenna and confuse the issue. My impression was that the antenna change came right at the MY break. But you're absolutely right that, given Jaguar's sometimes poor documentation, if the OP's car is very late '93 it could be fitted with the Harada, so he really should confirm before ordering the mast. Thanks for catching that!
Cheers,
Don
