Putting a Union Jack on the roof AKA Mini (or Austin Powers)
I live in the S/W and while bare steel wont rust here as its so dry the sun plays hell on the paint and interior trim Fortunately the car was garaged kept for many years and I immediately tinted the windows to 20% as soon as i bought the car, so the interior is still very nice but the roof looks terrible.
I cant see spending $1000 getting the top of the car resprayed but I would consider $100 or so getting a giant sticker.
Anyone do this or have links to someone who has?
It may be a moment but Im willing to look into it.

Well I wouldn't do the union jack myself but if you did do a decal keep in mind that red is the most fugitive of all colours and in the kind of sun you have down there it wouldn't last very long at all ...You could probably do as good a job with some masking tape and a couple of spray cans ..
What about doing it in textured vinyl? You could get that Ricardo Montalbalm Fine Corinthian leather look

Maybe you could go to a screen printer,But make sure you get a pressure sensative substrate so it does not get humidity blisters under it.(will split and peel if you don't).
Pressure sensitive is like the clear self adhesive beer bottle labels.
And ask for a photocure uv ink or the equivelant. Some sort of ink that wont fade in the sun like they use on bumper stickers.
Have you,or when you were a kid going into any place with your Dad notice all the old girly posters, tyre posters or cigarete posters were predominantly Blue/black sort of colour. That is because red and yellow pigments are not light fast(they fade much faster than Blue/black).
So as long as you make sure you get light fast magenta and yellow on your sticker you will be fine. Good light fast inks should give you at least 5 good years, but probably 10.
I know this because.....

There are TONS of wrap options to choose from, and fairly inexpensive.
How about walnut to match the dash?
