Default Headlight Conversion

Can X300 headlight assemblies be used to convert Xj40 rectangular headlights to the four headlight version?

I ask, because I have an excellent set of X300 headlights that I can't sell. I am NOT planning on converting my Majestic.

However, if the X300 lights do work in the XJ40 I will stash these lights otherwise they are going in tomorrow;s trash.

I'm quite certain the headlamp trim from an X300 will not fit an XJ40, but the bulbs and inner support frame just might. Even though the XJ40 frame is flat and the X300 frame is contoured, the mounting screw locations may be the same.

Hopefully someone else will know definitively.

I have to ask, if the headlights are excellent, why can't you sell them?

Cheers,

Don

Thanks Don,
I took a look at the drawing on jaguarclassicparts and thought they just may work.
Why can't I sell them? Apparently there is no interest.

1. 92,000 plus X300s were built with about 60% (55k cars) exported to North America. After 20 years there my be 10% to 20% still on the road. These cars are at such an age and low valuation that when accident claims are submitted insurance companies total the cars rather than repair them. I've already trashed two excellent head light trim panels in spindrift white. I tried to sell them for $20 the pair including shipping. Not one bite.

2. Owners looking to upgrade the headlights on their cars are installing X308 headlights.

I have two excellent tail lights, two fog lamps, and a group of interior puddle lamps and ZERO interest. I am going to try to sell them one more time and if no bites in the trash they will all go.

I am not trying to get rich off of these parts, prices asked are so low I'm practically giving them away. At this point in time there is just no demand for X300 parts.
